I like the Orakpo kid from Texas but he's got Vernon Gholston written all over him IMO.

Thats a load considering they don't even play the same position

Gholston is a 6'3, 264 lb, linebacker

Orakpo is a 6'4, 260 lb, DEFENSIVE END

and ORAKPO IS A BEAST, MONSTER, AND A FREAK!!!

Orakpo did not play linebacker his senior year in college watch the video's he is coming f from the defensive end position. He is listed in the combine as a DEFENSIVE END as his primary position. HE WILL BE A DEFENSIVE END IN THE NFL!!!

I believe the comparison is that he's a workout warrior and a potential bust because he's only good at workouts, not the playing part.

That's the parallels being drawn.

Except we drafted Hilee Taylor for Defensive End who is smaller than Orakpo and before you say something like Hilee Taylor is faster well actually Orakpo is faster they are very similar except Orakpo can hold his own by himself and brings an excellent work ethic.

Trust me on this Orakpo will play DEFENSIVE END in the NFL. Just look how similar they are

Taylor- 6-2, 250lbs, DE, 40- 4.85

Orakpo- 6-4, 260, DE, 40- 4.61

and in 2008 Orakpo's stats looked like this and he came back from an injury to accomplish this.

In his 11 games

Tackles:40

Solo's:31

Assists:9

Sacks:11

Taylor is a situational pass rusher and was taken in the seventh round....

It's possible that Orakpo plays DE in the nfl, but I doubt it.

Meh. We'll see.

    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
