I Have A Man Crush On Peterson

we only talk about wanting to draft the freakish defensive athlete just about every single year, and as it stands right now we already have more first round starters than SD started last season

great defense is usually mostly built from the 2nd round on, not everybody likes to hear that because people here just seem to love jumping on the freak defensive player bandwagon

Well you gotta get through round 1 first. And thats where the freakish athletes are. Its not "us", its the NFL

What you basically just said is, dont draft in round 1 and first half of the 2nd. Draft bottom 2nd and on only. Its a balance

dude, we don't have a shortage of first round players/raw defensive talent on our defense

beastson i've got a question for you

if "shutdown corner" is so important why did the SD defense get better and not worse after they traded Cromartie?

maybe it had more to do with them letting go of Ted Cottrell?

maybe Rivera's a defensive genius and we don't need all these freak players?

Cromartie? lol

Let Oak let go Aso and we'll see what they do

It was a noticeable diff when Revis wasn't there

And dont forget the Champs had corners for days

when he's motivated he does have the potential to be a shut down guy. He's also one of the more physically gifted corners in the NFL at face value

They let go of Cromartie because he's not that good and he was a pussy and bitched out on the most important play of the year.

 at you thinking Cromartie ever was a shutdown corner

i didn't even say it explicitly and you're the one who stated Matt Moore will win a super bowl

who sounds more ridiculous

I want a shutdown corner too. I'm tired of Gamble's 92 speed in Madden. I want a corner with 96+

I'm a huge fan of Peterson too! Really! Peterson and Green are both the only "elite" prospects and they should be considered just off that fact.

An elite corner can essentially shut down 1/3 of the field and helps the pass rush immensely (which we were not too good at last season but I'm sure Rivera has his ways of making us look better). If PP is capable of that, I'd take him.

Lol @ Cromartie being shutdown btw. Everyone knows Jammer has always been the best corner on that team. And he was taken 5th overall.

    • I’m old enough to remember when I wanted to draft Njoku We brought back Mitchell and officially kept Tremble. Mitchell Evans isn’t going anywhere. Sanders who knows, he was awful last year I fully agree we need a better TE. This room is awful Njoku would be a massive help in the red zone. However it really seems like Dan and the FO prefer to go young on offense
    • You’re underselling Loveland imo. He’s so damn good. You can line him out wide and count on him to win 1 v 1. I don’t see that from Sadiq. Loveland is going to go over 1000 yards next season I’m not overly asking for a WR3. It’s just one of the few directions Morgan could go in round 1.  Let’s say Thieneman, Fano and Cooper are all on the board it’s a tough decision. I just don’t see how this team would take Sadiq over some of those guys given the way they run their offense. Our tight end room is easily bottom of the league so I can definitely see why someone would want a tight end though. At one point during the season I was on the Sadiq train as well. I just don’t think value wise for us specifically it makes sense given our team as a whole As far as tight ends go in this draft I really like Max Klare. Very smooth mover
    • Some of you need some serious help with the way 9 lives rent free in your heads I know for a fact, Dan loves Bryce. Bryce is his guy. This offense is very young and they’re asking Bryce to do a lot. With Idzik taking over playcalling duties it’s a move that is another step in the process of Bryce taking control of the offense. 24 years old. This youth movement on offense and putting more on 9’s shoulders is going to pay off in the long run
