who's the Assassin Creed guy that is offing the people for Arya? That guy is a badass. Lots going on now, which is great.

Jaqen H'ghar - A Faceless Man

I won't spoil what that means for you, but yeah, that pretty much makes him badass...

Last night's episode was excellent... There was a pretty major changes from the books, one of the biggest on Dany's end (but it will end up justifying something that will happen in the coming episodes)...

Also, props to Roose for mentioning his bastard son... It appears as though that means we'll get to see him... I am hoping the same holds true for the Reeds...

I agree with you, but they are damned if they do, and damned if they dont. If they split each book into 2 seasons, the child actors would be much, much older by the time they were finished with the story. It just wouldnt have worked.

I think they will end the story after the 4th season, (at the end of the weddings), because they are already struggling with the TV viewers not knowing WTF is going on. Honestly, I really love the TV show, but I think that the only way that a 10,000 page long story can be represented on TV would be to make it into an animated series.

I am just going to enjoy it while it lasts.

FWIW the producers have already said they won't be doing that and they plan on telling the complete story no matter how long it takes.

When they were asked if they would try to amend the ending to bring closure to the series before the books ended they said they would not do that and were dedicated to telling the complete story.

The only way it doesn't happen is if HBO cancels the series and if they do the last episode will just correspond with the ending of the book of that particular season.

They aren't ending it season 4 unless HBO cancels it. Which they won't because they take into account viewing from HBO Go, On Demand, etc. and the rating on Game of Thrones has been among the highest in HBO history when you take those things into account.

The May 2nd episode had higher ratings than the NBA playoffs and was the highest rated show for 18-49 demographic on all of basic cable on Sunday and has two times as many viewers as "Mad Men" ..... and its a on a premium channel not a free channel!!!

Plus this for the entire week on NFL Draft week.

The NFL Draft topped cable viewership for the week with 6.67 million people tuning in. Pawn Stars was the highest rated cable original, with 5.63 million viewers Monday at 10PM. Legend of Korra (4.08 million viewers ) and Game of Thrones (3.90 million viewers) were the highest rated scripted programs.

Ok, MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD....so please do not highlight or scroll down if you don't want to be spoiled. BTW, the background color for this forum is hex code: f2f2f2...if we could get an addition to text color with that hex code, it would make adding spoilers easier in this new format.

I haven't read books 2 or 3 in a few years, but IIRC, we are still 4 episodes away from the finale, and it seems like book 2 is somewhat wrapping up. I am almost positive season 3 will end on the Red Wedding, but do you think they will rewrite Joffrey's storyline in the series and have his death be the end to this season?

Sapper, I haven't read all the books but I can tell you that this season should wrap up all of book #2 and if the "Red Wedding" is at the end of book #3 (which I think it is but I haven't read book #3) then it will be at the end of season 4 because they announced that they would be breaking book #3 into two seasons (3 and 4).

If that made any sense with all the numbers

Ha, yea well it has been long enough since I read them, the numbers run together.

FWIW, those of you that hate Joffrey and Theon that haven't read the books, should completely respect how well those 2 actors have pulled their respective characters off.

hating a character doesn't mean the actor did a great job.

i don't think the actor that plays joffrey is good.... at all.

I was able to start reading this weekend and am excited about seeing the story in more detail. There was a chapter in the books that explained the relationship between Ned, Jaime, the Starks and the Lannisters better than the entire 1st season did. I think the chapter was represented as Ned and Robert eating on the king's road on their way from Winterfell to King's Landing(where they discuss Dany marrying Drogo).

I can easily see how many scene's can't be done because of budget problems and limited time. The first night with Dany and Drogo was done well imo. If it were to be done perfectly it'd end up being a 10-15 min scene and it didn't justify that much screen time.
