Golfers...

I've been playing for about a year now, mostly with borrowed clubs. So I am looking at getting a set of clubs pretty soon. The problem is, that I am pretty short, (5'4"ish) and I don't have the money to get a custom set. I'm a 100+ golfer, but have been told by some pretty good golfers that having ill fitted clubs could be a big reason for my struggles.

I've had some suggest looking at a set of lady's clubs. My question is, are lady's clubs lofted or weighted any different than men's clubs? If so, does anybody have any other suggestions, or would I be better off just waiting until I can afford to get a custom set?

If you want to be taken seriously, don't get a set of lady clubs. The irons are made with graphite shafts which is something you don't need unless you are a senior citizen. I'd just wait.

Golf stores like Golfsmith always have a pretty good selection of used golfclubs but you might have to get them fitted which isn't very expensive.

It costs nothing to stroll into a Dick's and have them measure and fit you. As a matter of fact, just about any golf shop (Golf USA, Golfsmith, Edwin Watts) will take the time and measure you as well, fitting you and making the right recommendation.

I have the opposite issue at 6'6" and I have an extra 1/2" on my irons and it costs me nothing to get properly fitted. Trust me, you want the right information because, as you said yourself, you'll spend a few extra bucks on getting the clubs sized. And a good set of irons could set you back anywhere from $400-800.

I think someone's f*cking with you.

    • OL then RB would make heads explode but its might not be too unlikely
    • Wonder if we draft a RB. Seems like a lot of eggs in Brooks’ basket right now.  And the OL, no kidding. If that running game goes to hell with what we have at QB, you can forget competing. It is so much more important than sticking another wideout on the field. Take your wideout later.
    • I have lots of different thoughts on it. This argument, the primary thing is I don’t like seeing him or anyone, being convicted on hearsay and/or pure speculation. Which some are doing.  I don’t care That much about defending Morgan as I do about the criticism being fair minded.    You sort of assert that Dan was just a yes man. I don’t think we know if he ever pushed back against Fitterer but I have this instinct thing that needs me to satisfy the question of: if Tepper was so down on a Fitterer as to fire him, why in the world would he hire his carbon copy? I guess maybe he wanted a yes man.Like I said, lots of different thoughts.     I am just not gonna judge him that harshly based only on speculation. I am sticking with what he has done starting when he was hired as GM. Maybe I am more lenient because the first season for him and Canales, I gave both a pass. Said I would judge them after the first year. Stuck to it. If you can get to the reality that neither were ready for the job and say okay give them a year get their feet wet, it looks a lot better.    And we are not bound to Bryce yet. Yes, for yet another fuging year he can probably marginally improve and slide by like he has been doing. But if they add even more people and he regresses? I think we could see some relief.    The QB room? As I understand it, Pickett was Canales’ choice. If we need to blame people for poo. In a sense, he is very Bryce like. So makes a good plug in. I get that a little bit. We still have the draft. If they do better than Jake Plummer or Hooker I’ll know they are trying.
