The spirit of John Fox lives on?

People who put blind faith in Matt Moore this time last year, believed Harbough when he called Luck "perfect",are too good to believe in a Cam Newton. Theyre better than us, they are the rational ones. Damn right Foxs cowardly approach to football lives on and brings us all down.

If you are only talking about 5 Anti-Newton fans, why not call them out instead of generalizing to make it sound like there's an army of ignorant people looking down upon you?

if anyone is looking down on someone, regardless of your rhetoric, seems to be those who are actually Pro-Newton fans..

But would you take a QB who is a "one year wonder" over a WR who has shown his ability year after year? AJ Green was highly recruited out of HS and has performed at a high level, getting better each year.

Cam was highly recruited and had more success for his team than green did. for like I also like green

Green is a beast no argument but considering our need for a QB, and the fact our current QB's showed no promise for the future. Unlike our young wideouts did last season it's a no brainer imo.

Plus you can't discredit what Cam did last season I hate that one year wonder term for any prospect if you put in work you should get credit...

Yes. I would have taken Luck.....and I am willing to take Newton now that he is the best on the board at QB.

QB >>>>>>>>>WR in the NFL. Tom Brady can win with bums you have never heard of......he can turn average WRs into some of the most feared in the league.

You worry about WR when you got a QB in place. imo.

So your saying AJ green is a potential All Pro and Cam is not. Even discounting the numbers that 1st round WR's fail at an almost 70% rate. I take back what I said, people who want a WR over a QB are not conservative at all.

you do realize that AJ Green could flop just as easily as Cam?

We don't have a hole at WR the size of the one at QB. Gotta take the risk.....the reward for the QB being good(not even great) is drastically better than any other spot for this team.

That's fine.. You're preaching to the choir. This isn't about who's right and who's wrong.. lol

my point is, you all should respect someone else's opinion and quit trying to label them as racist, conservative, ignorant.

I'm trying to convey one simple thought.. if our scouts, GM, and coach do not see what they need in a QB. I'll be perfectly happy with Green and see how that works out. Drafting a QB they are unsure about after all the evaluations they have done by draft time doesn't sound like a smart move just because it's our biggest need.

You would think after all the complaining about the conservative nature of the John Fox era people here would be more apt to take risk. However from a lot of comments and post it seems like John Fox is still here.

Drafting a cornerback , DT at #1?

We need a traditional pocket passing QB.

Complaining that a QB made a play to ice the game instead of taking a knee?

Tanking the year so we can get a better QB(arguably) next year?

Hoping that our horrible QB play from last year was just bad play calling?

Or maybe it's just me reading into things..........

CB has never been taken at number 1, doing so could be considered a risk.

Tanking the year for a QB who doesn't even have to declare for the draft next year is a huge risk.

Hoping bad QB play from last year improves is a huge risk.

3 of the 5 things you listed are risks. I fail to see how you call people conservative then list things they want that are risks

You know who else was highly recruited out of HS and performed at a high level getting better each year? Charles Rogers.

For the record , Cam has won everywhere he has started(even High School). Hell even when he didn't start the team won. So that's more of a one year wonder.

yeah, I'm hoping that carries over into the NFL.. I really hope he gets 2 years to soak it all up. then again, I hope that for every new QB that comes up or else you get Clausen more often than Sam Bradford.

Anyone who longs for some Fox football knows where to go to.

This team was in bad shape qb wise waaaaay before the Luck debacle. Hurney and Fox knew damn well they needed to groom a future qb. And i'm not talking some waste of space in the 6th round.

How long did we keep Weinke around? While drafting bum ass qb's like a Lefors, knowing Delhomme was nearing the final stretch of his career, who was good at one time but no hall of famer.

So excuse me if i'm lacking patience to wait to draft a qb next year or in two years. While the team still sucks NOW and we've been standing around pissing in the wind for years while other teams get their qb.

so it's okay to draft a QB, even if signs pointed to him being a bust?
