Another thing I've been thinking is that if Cam does well and brings excitement and relevance to our team, potential free agents might actually want to come here. Boring ole' Carolina isn't usually the first option on most FA's list. It isn't just about excitement to the fans..

I don't know that he will be a flop but I agree that Gabbert will be a better pro QB. He's the pick of the litter.

Isn't cam ranked about 15th or 16th overall? Why wouldn't we ever have a chance at a #2 overall QB in a weak QB draft class? Wouldn't we have a "chance" at a player like him in any draft where we pick in the top half of the draft?

The only thing that prevents us from cutting him altogether is the fact we took him with a second round pick, maybe we can get a package deal with him later on. (The same reason why we don't cut Armanti Edwards) Besides, it's not like we are going to plug Cam in anytime soon, so it's like having two Clausens on the team if we take him.

Let's build our defense, and make it the best. Then we can focus on offense next year.

See, I don't think it is. I wouldn't want Cam to start right away...but I think he COULD be better than Clausen right away.

Can't afford to delay the offense....it is horrific. Worst in the NFL in all aspects last year. D was fine last year and will be fine this year. You can't ignore your most glaring weakness.

I am fine w/ Clausen getting another shot....another shot at being on the team NOT as our starter in 2011.

Don't want both Pike/Clausen on the roster. One has to go....and soon. Too many potential WC QBs would be taking up spots.

I admit Clausen got a crap deal......I just don't think that is the reason he was that bad. Even in a crap deal you can show potential and flashes in 13 games. People nitpick the smallest moments that weren't moments and try to spin it into something.
