yeah because the dumbass that thinks we can get Cam Newton and AJ Green is a mothterfuging genius

you're right, what can I say. only "haters" propose idiotic trades.

Yeah he was a pretty big hugger

everyone is excited for the #1 Pick but Im actually kinda worried because if we do get newton what if it is one of the biggest bust we ever had.If I was Marty Hurney I would grab a veteran like Mcnabb<IDK his name >and than picking someone like A.J Green because also we have the #1 Hardes schedule in the league and chances are that we will be in the top 10 so would you get newton or wait one more year give clausen a 1 more chance with aj green or mcnabb...because if we do get Top 5 next year we could grab someone like that matt barkley from USC or get Andrew Luck ...What Do you all think?

Just saying he pretty much seems like a lock to come to us tomorrow which is why those threads were made in the first place. Before he was a lock and many were in denial about him coming here but thought it could be a chance he does those statements about supporting him were made. I am just waiting to see if that holds true. Like I said to Mav I respect y'all for that I rather see those statements than the ones in the threads we've seen all afternoon on here from the haters smh.

I just don't see evidence of some HUGE meltdown. Let's look at the "Panther's cant take Cam Newton", shall we? The guy expresses concern with Cam's agent because he thinks JR is cheap and ends with: "I just dont see it happening fellas. If it does I'll be excited and nervous, but I just dont see it. "

doesn't sound like someone who is melting down, but it does sound like someone who thinks our owner won't pay people... which IMO is incorrect.

Now as to people who won't support him - that we will have to see. I think you may be right about some of the crazier posters about him, but I think there are just as many people (and I don't think you're one of 'em, Millions) who would have left this board and franchise if we passes on cam.

never called him a 'hugger,' the point is the idiotic trades are coming from all angles right now.

there was also someone brilliant who suggested we swap firsts next year with a team for their second this year. like a team is gonna do that... other than the patriots. and you know they'll fug you.

Instead of reading just the OP read some of the posts. We all have opinions. It is just really apparent that the haters are much more emotionally attached to not drafting Cam Newton than huggers are for him being the pick.

...did you even read it? some random guy wants to "trade for McNabb" and FortySixand2 saying that someone will want to trade if Newton is worth #1 as the only evidence of anyone hating on Newton in that ENTIRE thread until you step in, with the vast majority being people saying we are going to draft him, hardly a meltdown.

no, what's apparent is how much people seem to want to seem like the reasonable ones around here... for what reason, I don't know.

you are normally reasonable, Tee. stop looking for poo that isn't there. there's a VERY limited number of posters who I think you guys may be right about never accepting Cam, and there have been a few "OMG CAM!" posters today, but by and large it hasn't been a meltdown at all. I know why you thought highlandfire's thread was about Cam, hell, even I did before I read it. Just more of a "depression" on the part of people who want us not to take a QB than a meltdown.

edit: removed a somewhat mean part, wasn't trying to be as much of a jerk as it came out, lol

I'll support and get behind whatever pick we make, and I'll be happy the draft is done, but right now I am not very happy that we are looking like we'll take Newton.

Pretty much.

In my opinion, he's not going to be a successful pro quarterback. His skill set doesn't translate well to what we want to do on offense (same deal as Tewbow last year).

Some guys look at what he did in college and assume he can do that in the NFL too. A lot of us disagree because we've seen it before.

Hoping he fails? That'd be kind of stupid, don't you think?

Concerned that he'll fail? Very much so :(

Not sure why that's difficult for folks to understand.

fact:

Haters are way more emotionally invested in not taking him than huggers are for taking him.

Not a fact at all.

An opinion, and an incorrect one.

no, most of us don't want a fuging quarterback. is yates a qb? yes. therefore, we don't want him at #1.

there are SOME people who PREFER Gabbert and even some who want Gabbert at #1, but the vast majority of "don't want Newton" people do not want a QB at #1.

Or any other pick.

The Panthers winning is what "makes me happy" in football fan terms.

I have doubts as to whether Newton helps that cause.

And Matt Moore, Jimmy Clausen, or Tony Pike do?
