Chris Cornell redemption song(cover)

I agree. She has a great voice, and i really liked "The Miseducation of Lauren Hill".

Other than that, I have no love for her though. I cant really remember exactly what she said, but she went on the record during an interview and made some extremely racist comments. Something along the lines of "I hate white people and I wont even talk to them unless I have to".

She even mentioned that she didnt want white people to buy her album, which is extremely stupid since white people probably bought 70% of them.

this is probly the biggest rumor ever created within the music industry.

besides Paul being dead and Elvis & 2Pac still being alive.

this never happened. delete it out of your memory.

Cornell's James Bond thyme is my favorite of all the 007 movies.

big fan as well..

really? I cant remember my source because it was like 15 years ago, but IIRC, it was rollingstone magazine. Who knows though, i guess i will take your word for it.

worth reading..

to slightly paraphrase...

as the rumor goes, during an MTV interview said she would rather die than have a white person buy one of her records.

MTV later came out to deny any truth to the claim.. by then, as urban legends go, it spread like wild fire without many doing any research to find out the truth.

and if this were true, the tape would have surfaced by now..

also, on numerous occasions, she has denied saying anything remotely resembling that statement.

take my word for it like the sky is blue until there is proof otherwise.. so when someone else brings this up you can educate them.

I don't understand the Cobain hate... he's not the "best guitar player" whatever, I agree, but his work was solid. I love Cornell, Wieland and several others from this genre... man I wish Layne Staley was still around too.

I never got into grunge, but all my friends did.. most of my bias comes from my idiot friends who thought they would get on some kind of soapbox about how great he was..

some of the tunes are catchy, but it was never my thing. I have a little bit more of a deep rooted reason than most and not all of it is really about Cobain..

he was talented, that's about as far as I'm willing to go.. Then again, I almost want to say the Pixies set the stage for him, but I won't go down that road, lol.. ;)

honestly, I believe Dave Grohl has more talent in his little finger than Cobain ever had..

No, I think Grohl was probably the most talented of the three, but Cobain was talented too. I got more into Nirvana than just their popular stuff too though, same with AiC and STP. I was never very into Pearl Jam though...

Honestly I try not to get into who's better than who... music, like art, womenz, and lots of other stuff is entirely subjective.

For anyone interested... Soundgarden reformed last year. Their new album is functionally complete.

Soundgarden's new album will feature 'updated old material' Reformed US band are working on first studio album in 15 years

Soundgarden's forthcoming new album is set to feature updated versions of "super-old" material.

The grunge band, who reunited in January 2010 after a 12-year break, said that recent sessions have left them with 12-14 songs that are "kind of ready to go".

Speaking to Billboard.com, drummer Matt Cameron said that although the material is "90 per cent new", the rest could be made up of updated old ideas.

"We've tried to update the super-old stuff. It doesn't sound too old and dusty and crusty to my ears - but maybe to someone else it will," he said.

"There's a little bit of evolution going on with some of this new music, but we're not straying too far from the formula. It has all our signature elements - and more. I think people are going to really love it," Cameron added.

Last month, the Seattle band posted on their official website, Soundgardenworld.com, to confirm that they were working on a new album - their first since 1996's 'Down On The Upside'.

I can't wait to hear it. This is of epic proportions.
