Leaving for Germany Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Leaving early tomorrow to study abroad in Heidelberg, Germany for the next 6 weeks. Along with all the major German cities, I plan on making my way to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, and Paris as well. Hope everyone's summer is off to a good start and I'll be sure to post and update you all when I'm not traveling.

I'll put up some pictures when I get the chance, maybe even sneak some at the red light district for all you Lovely Lady Lovers.

Until then, Go Panthers and stay thirsty my friends.

Beux and beer lovers, almost forgot, you will definitely be seeing and hearing about all the brew being consumed like water over the next month or so ;)

Remember Germans serve beer at room temperature. Barcelona and Paris are great cities. Amsterdam is overrated, unless you're going to get weed or to buy poon. Rome is overrated no matter what.

If you're going for lovely ladies, Luxembourg is a little known paradise.

enjoy the trip! definitely jealous.. we met some girls who came here to become Au Pair's and stayed for a year. One girl has moved back, very sweet and would be a good contact to show you around.. We have been talking about making a trip to Germany to see them and all the country has to offer.

btw, German women love American men.. so have fun.. lol

I lived in Mannheim, Germany, which is about 30 minutes from Heidelberg, and absolutely loved it. Heidelberg is an unbelievable city with its castle located on top of a huge hill and unbelievably beautiful "old world" downtown. Plus the Neckar river flows right through the middle of the city and next to Heidelberg University. Also there is, at least used to be, a US military base nearby so there are plenty of Americans around plus there is an American radio station. Enjoy your time.

Koblenz was certainly one of my favorite places to visit last time I was in Germany.

That is a great town. I enjoyed taking the chairlift up to the old fort/castle. Also, the huge campground seemed out of place.

I studied in Germany during the summer of '00. Was some of the best times in my life. My favorite place in Deutschland was Bad Munstereifel (really cool little town). Loved the small towns like Luebbeke, Paderborn, Remagen etc.

You have to check out the small towns there, not just the big cities.

    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
    • When the broadcast showed the two benches side by side during the last TV timeout, it was pretty obvious the whole operation is a shitshow. If I was the owner, I would play that clip, with commentary, on the jumbotron at MSG as I fired the coach, GM, President, the whole lot. Bring in your AHL leadership team, wholesale, to finish out the season and start from scratch next year.  Can't fire all the players and fold the season. But, hopefully decapitating the zombie will light a fire under the body and burn out the cancer of the roster. (It makes sense if you don't think about it...) There are obviously issues on the roster. But, you can't have the entire coaching staff completely tuned out with 5 minutes left in a 2 goal game this early in the season. And you can't trust the people that hired them to hire the next staff. If you trust your AHL GM/Scouts, let them run the deadline firesale.   ...     Please don't let the owner read any of this. Because, this poo is hilarous!
