You have to give Hurney props for getting things done so far this year. He resigned Jordan Gross to a huge contract which gave us the ability to tag peppers so if he really wants to be traded we will at least get something in return. And now he has resigned Lewis. Good player who fits well in the organization. Marty Hurney is one of the best GMs in the league.

Nice move to lower the cap hit on Lewis.

Lewis plays pretty well for the Panthers. He's no Jenkins, but he still plays well. He definitely isn't the weak link along the line.

The only way to lower his hit for this season is a contract extension. he's in the last year of his deal. His agent says the team hasn't talked to him about an extension.

Really thats silly. For one Jake was never in a slump and contracts dont have anything to do with player performance. Unless that player is not trying to start with and thats just not Jake.
