The Annual Midnight Vigil

This is interesting, did he ever make it to Buffalo?

Well, Panthers free agent Geoff Hangartner's trip to Buffalo hasn't gone as planned.

Mostly, because he hasn't gotten there yet.

Hangartner left from Austin, Tex., first thing this morning, and 12 hours later, was sitting in the airport in Chicago waiting for yet another connection attempt. He said he's already had two flights canceled, and isn't sure when or if he's getting there.

Once he arrives, expect the Bills to offer him a starting job and more money than the Panthers can match. Even if he doesn't sign there, it sounds like there are enough suitors to make his return here extremely unlikely.

ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen reports that Albert Haynesworth's deal with the Redskins is effectively for four years, $48 million, but Haynesworth isn't likely to see the last half of the contract. Haynesworth is due a $29 million "poison pill" in salary and bonuses in 2013, his age 32 season. It's possible that the contract will be renegotiated down the road, but the important number for Haynesworth is the $41 million in guarantees.

Haha so not such a big payday now huh

41 million guaranteed is huge no matter how you cut it.

Kitna traded to Dallas,

Boley signs with NYG for 5 year deal.

Then this nugget of info

Before the Pats traded Cassel to the Chiefs, the Bucs, Lions, and Broncos became entwined in the talks. Tampa called Denver about a three-way deal that would have sent Cassel to the Broncos and Cutler to the Bucs. The Lions also knocked on Denver's door about Cutler with Cassel as potential bait, but the Broncos turned down both offers after "entertaining the notion." Schefter was clear that the Broncos only fielded calls and did not instigate talks.

Why do I think BB sat back and had a good old laugh about all the Cassel deals... I hate him but he's the puppet master no doubt.
