When I was 17...I don't remember much of it since I was under the influence of mind altering substances most of the time. It was fun tho, I do remember that.

i was lucky in the sense that my grandfather built a place at ocean isle in the 70s. that house was always there for us to use, any time. i was a very independent teenager and my parents gave me a lot of freedom and trust. basically i pushed my boundaries just far enough up to the point where i didn't end up in the hospital or in jail. but very close numerous times. point being, i'd take trips to ocean isle with a huge group of friends from age 16 through college. the vast majority of my fondest memories came from taking those road trips from raleigh/durham to ocean isle in the summers with between 6 and 12 friends. many of my friends from back then would tell you the same thing.lots of us gathered for one last hoorah in that house before my parents rebuilt this year.
