Stewart wants us to hang on to Williams

That's alot of teams. Yall act like anyone can do what Williams does. So all 32 teams have elite running backs?

Lots or RBs can hit 1000 yards w/ the load Williams got in 2009.

What exactly has Williams done the last 2 years that can't be matched by lots of RBs?

I mean you can only hang your hat on what happened soon to be 4 seasons ago for so long......

Nope, those are just a few off the top of my head who are able to pick up guys off the scrap heap and make them look good.

The point is that RB is one of the easiest positions in all of football to find players for. We are spending/going to spend a ton of money on backs when we don't need to.

Stewart is more than capable. He was drafted 13th overall. Spend the money where we need it, not where we want it.

We didn't need to draft both of them in the first place, keeping them into their 30's just compounds the dumbness of this front office, and fans.

Been saying that forever.

We have the best run game in the league is what everyone says.....well, how's our record? How many playoff games have we won?

Running the ball is great, but that isn't what is winning games right now in the NFL.

Well let's see. When they were both healthy the whole season and we had a decent QB we went 12-4 and could've went deep in the playoffs if our QB didn't turn it over 6 times. Passing is great too, but if you don't have a good running game you ain't passing poo.

Wait, let me get back on your side. Who in their right mind wants to keep 2 elite running backs when you can have just one. This ain't no damn Madden.:cuss:

I don't even want to bring this up, but I guess I need to make a point.

Ladanian Tomlinson was let go by the Chargers because of age, and wear and tear. Let's not even start to compare DWill to LT, but I think you get the point.

LT was THE Chargers for close to 10 years, he is a 1st ballot HOF RB. And they still cut him loose. We have to do the same exact thing here.

Don't be so ignorant. When they were both healthy, when we had a QB, blah blah blah. We couldn't win, and we didn't win.

Yea, it's seemingly impossible to pass without 2 First Round Running Backs on your team.

Just look at the Colts, NE, Balt, Eagles, etc.

It's not a matter of want, it's a matter of need. We need O line help, we need QB help, we need D line help, and we need D backfield help. The only areas we don't need help are RB and LB.

Why is this so hard to understand.

just looking at last season....GB 24th and Indy 29th in rushing....

League/rules have changed. Passing > running. It is why a team can have 2 1100 yard RBs and barely get to .500...........and others teams with crap and virtually no threat of a ground attack all season can sail into the postseason.

They cut him loose because there was nothing left and he was a workhorse. D-Will isn't a workhorse and has a lot left and by your example we at least have 4-5 years left.

With cam or any other Qb we have playing this year you will want that duo back there. I would hope the plan is to have Cam learn to manage a game before he owns it. Just the thought of Cam, Deangelo, and Stewart in the backfield will cause Defensive Coordinators to adjust game plans in ways that harbor any passing defense, allowing Cam to get a solid 20 - 30 passes a game and not just saying here kid go through your fuggin heart out.

LT was 30 already when released? plus look at how many touches he had out there in SD.

He was 29 IIRC.

Touches don't mean poo, it's all about age.

After 30 RB's go downhill, and fast, nothing to do with touches or carries, or the offense, it's all about the age.

That might have something to do with Rogers and Manning being the QB's of those teams. Just my guess
