By the way, I don't think these guys signing off is mandatory. Instead, the league will not sign off on deal unless the anti-trust is resolved. League doesn't want to still be liable for a lawsuit once they sign off on a new agreement.

An update from SI on Jackson and his demands.

A potential stumbling block could be Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson and Patriots guard Logan Mankins, plaintiffs who reportedly want financial settlements before signing off on the settlement. Neither could be reached for comment, but Jackson tweeted Tuesday night that he has made "no demands" and wants to be on the field like every other player.

A source familiar with the situation disputed that and said Jackson's camp indeed is seeking to have his situation addressed. Like with so many things associated with these settlement talks, it has been hard to find the fires amid the smoke.

For the NFLPA to vote on reinstating the union, they have to agree to the deal, so all 10 named players have to give the OK for that final vote to happen for the season to get underway.

The antitrust lawsuits couldn't be filed until the union decertified. Therefore as soon as the union recertifies the antitrust lawsuits are invalid I would think. They are covering their bases by the players signing off but I bet they could invalidate the lawsuits anyway snce the CBA give the NFl antitrust exemption status. Of course the plaintiff could say that the union doesn't represent them and they could proceed. Still I doubt the lawsuits will go forward once the settlement is reached or one player holdout could tank the whole process.

Correct if the union re certified with out their knowledge the lawsuits would be invalid, however before the union can even re certify those 10 players have to give the OK to drop the lawsuit.

If the Players vote tomorrow and it passes it will go to the 10 plaintiff's in the Antitrust lawsuit. They then have to give an 100 % vote of all 10 players for it to go to the next step which would be the union re certifying this weekend.
