tis why I rarely ever drink shots anymore..can't do it. There's not sleeping thru it once you hit 30...I do find that drinking water the entire time you're getting hammered does help immensely though..huge difference

you just gotta know your limit, and counter the alcohol like you said. like this past friday i had 4 fairly stout beers and 1 shot of jack in a span of about 2 hours with a friend for his birthday. then at his place i had one more beer over another 2 hours. so 5 beers and a shot in about 4 hours. i drank some water and ate some food before going to bed after that which basically killed the awesome buzz i had, and i felt fine when morning came.

Drinking with children sucks. No matter what I have to be up at 7am. Then I feel like death and everything I eat makes my stomach feel like two assholes sewn together, but it taunts me by staying hungry all day.

i start early. finish early. sleep early. i can't remember the last time i was up later than 11.

Yeah I normally do, but I don't really have any friends in the area. So when I want to hang out with someone I have to actually go into Wilmington and I don't get home until late because I have to sober up. So I roll in around 4am and get three hours of sleep, it's pretty much the best thing ever.

Yep. Although I've gotten to the point where *gasp* I really just don't drink as much as I used to. Went downtown last weekend, started on water around 10, was fine by 1130, felt great the next day.

Wait til the first tailgate though... :p

This is very true. Took me a long time to master the cross buzz and know how much I can drink and what can't be mixed together.

Always will be a horrible drinker though.

As a few have said, you are only as old as you feel.

Me, I'm 48 going on 27.

Up to 2 years ago I was still Mtn bike downhill racing, kayaking Class 3 - almost 4 water, fishing on the open ocean in unsafe boats, drinking til 4 AM, hunting wild boars with dogs and a knife and a few other Danger Mouse things.

Now that I have the 2 boys under 2 years old, I have finally slowed down but still feel young as hell.

Age is just a number....

I agree. I'm better shape than I was 20 years ago, cuz I smoked and didn't exercise back then. So, I feel great really, its just my liver that begs to differ.

I used to run 8-9 miles a day.

Now, the most I run is to the refrigerator for another beer during a timeout.
