What are the players thinking?

we're all losing focus here

lets not forget that the core of this issue is owners are greedy old white guys

Greedy old white guys who seemed to have caved on a lot of issues...what have the players given up? They are getting 48 percent instead of 50???

If the players are 5 months into this and their reps do not know the details, then I blame Smith and that side. Why do the players not know the details? Leaders do not trust them to keep quiet. So blame the owners if you will, but some players seem to know less about this than I do--that is scary.

Without the greedy old white guys the NFL does not exist. You cannot take everything from them except risk and expect growth. Greedy old white guys are a necessity, and keeping their ink black is how the league survives.

There's no real way to compare this to anything in our lives and to try to is misguided. I understand they want to read over everything and be sure of what is in the agreement but this is too much. It shouldnt take this long to go over a document. When I enlisted in the military that was a big decision and I went through all the documents in a few hours. You guys act like this stuff is written in a different language or something. Being cautious is one thing...trying to prove a point is something entirely different...I think the players are trying to prove a point.

You were the one bitching about your work hours.

Have you ever been exposed to real corporate contracts? Hundred page contracts? They are effectively written in another language.

This is due dilligence. I'd take as long as I fuging felt like.

Here's the one thing that I can't shake and no one seems to mention, the NFLPA's lockout insurance. Basically every player would be paid $200,000 for next year if there is no football. Think about that? If someone said you could make 200 grand by sitting at home and playing with your kids wouldn't you take that???

Not if I could go back to my job of playing a game and earn millions. Opportunity cost. These guys only have a few years to earn millions and then they have to find a new career.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
