Panthers May Have Struck Gold with UDFA Signings

Recommended Posts

At least it brings up the point. Thomas Keiser (sp) the DE from Stanford was a solid acquisition. He may need a year on the PS, but with the current question marks at DE, he could be the 4th DE in a year. Adams is not even the best undrafted rookie WR we signed this year. Burney is slow, but he could be productive in this system on a limited basis. 4.72 40 CBs do not excite me, but if he anticipates and reacts quick enough to overcome this, maybe he can succeed on a limited basis. I hope Hogan is ready to go. Pugh is a PS player because we need 3 centers at practice, but he might be a better C than ZWilliams. ZWill is more versatile, and he could be here to eventually compete for Wharton's job. I think we did well, but I would rank the acquisitions this way:

1. CB Burney (I just do not see 4.7 doing it, but he might fit the system)

2. WR Warren (good size, speed, and hands. Runs good routes. Blocks well.)

3. DE Keiser (Good pass rusher, good vs run-first day pick in 2012?, came out too early)

4. C Pugh (3rd team All American)
