I'm glad they got ray Edwards, I seem to remember johnathan Stewart getting a lot of his 200 yards by running to his side of the field during the 09' game.

Edwards took that frugal deal because every GM out there knew exactly why he had decent numbers. He was the beneficiary of playing on the best DL in football.

Why do you think the Vikings let him go if that is all it would take to keep him.

He is a good player...but not the great steal that you think.

At this point in his Career Abe is not what he was, Babs is not as good as Kevin Williams

Abe is one of the best pass rushers in the league... Dude is what he was... I dont know how long it will last but he has not dropped off.

With Babs and Williams... Go watch the tape... You dont have to take my opinion or anyone else... But if you want to go by last year stats

Jonathan Babineaux - 27 takles, 4 sack, 2 FF

Its more then about sacks... 2 times out of the last 3 seasons Babs has led DT's in tackles for loss.

I'm not just saying this because these guys play for my team... If a guy sucked ill say he sucked...

Babineaux is also 6'2" 290 and change.

K. Williams is 6'5" 310 or so.

They're not expected to do the same things. Babs is expected to push up field everyplay. K. Williams sacks are a bonus. Their stats are going to be different.

Edwards excelled in part b/c K. Williams and P. Williams demanded so much attention on the interior, and Allen (who was a premiere pass rusher before he got to Minny) was the primary focus as far as blocking schemes in passing situations.

Doesn't matter how many sacks Babineux had.

Not saying the signing sucks. It doesn't. It's just not gonna make a huge difference either.

He was like their worst case scenario so I don't see how any Falcons fan can be truly happy. When I went to sleep last night they were negotiating with Osi from the Giants, if they would have signed him then I think it would have been huge, but I don't think this is a big deal.

I do agree that Edwards was the least of our 4 choices at DE. With the GNP of a small country you gave CJ and Osi wanting $10 Mill a year, I like where we ended up.

A 5 year deal for $30 mill for Edwards is a bargain, even the objective Panther fans agree with that. Besides, who knows if he regresses or improves his level of play, many players have benefited from a change in scenery.

Yea, thats the thing, we don't know how much longer JA has.

Like I said you have a very good team this year and made some good agressive moves. I think your window for making a strong run is this year and next... that's it!

After that if Cam does what he can do, the NFC South will be going thru the south for years to come!

Besides Abe and Gonzo, we should field the same players then that we do now(barring injury) I don't under stand how Ryan will fall on his face with two more years under his belt and only being 27 years old.

Unless your argument is that the Panthers are gonna own the NFL, thus the Falcons have zero chance. In that case I would have to call you a homer.
