Cowherd's Predictions

Mother Grabber

Recommended Posts

Why is this newsworthy?

Small market, rookie QB... all media will hate on us this year. A bold prediction would be we finish over .500

Who said anything about a bold prediction?

5-11..... And nobody is arguing???

There's no way in hell that we only win 3 more games than we did last year!!

For any fan to agree with this is LUDACRIS!!!

Why do you overreact so much bud???

Cowherd didn't piss me off.... The fans here that agreed with him did.... 5 wins... GTFOH!!!

These will be the same people who if we win the division will be like... "I told u we would!"

I have no time for Fake people, or fairweather fans... If u think we'll only win 5 games.... Save us all the time of reading your CRAP and go jump on the Eagles' bandwagon and boards!

Says the Panthers will only go 5-11 this year. Says we still don't have the talent to compete in our division...

He'll feel dumb in a couple of months!

How do u guys feel about his moronic comments?

I think he first needs to get a hair transplant...

Then he needs to go to Rivera and get his clock cleaned. I think that Coach is going to really make a lot of people eat their words. Personally, I think that Cowher is a little bit miffed that he didn't get the job. There were many rumors, although unconfirmed to my knowledge, that he wanted the position.

Contrary to what some people here think, 5 wins would actually be realistic. The 12 wins some people have predicted isn't.

I'm a realist. Once the team gels, then we can have winning seasons. As much as I would love to see them win, chances are we will have to slowly work our way up to a Championship over a couple of years. nature of the beast guys...sorry.

Totally agree with this statement...pie.

as much as i have heard we have the hardest schedule in the league, by actually looking at it, honestly i'm not scared. forget their record last year. it doesn't matter. lots of things have changed this offseason. this is legitimately a whole new year.

at Arizona Cardinals

vs. Green Bay Packers

vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

at Chicago Bears

vs. New Orleans Saints

at Atlanta Falcons

vs. Washington Redskins

vs. Minnesota Vikings

Bye

vs. Tennessee Titans

at Detroit Lions

at Indianapolis Colts

at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

vs. Atlanta Falcons

at Houston Texans

vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

at New Orleans Saints

i don't see us getting swept by more than 1 team in the NFCS. either ATL or the saints and even then i can see us pulling off a home win if the crowd is into it.

the only teams that really worry me are indy and the packers.

the cards, jags, redskins, and titans should be fairly easy games as they are all struggling. wouldn't say they are automatic wins, but they are the easiest on the schedule. i might add the vikings to that list as well. mcnabb is the wildcard there. of these 5 teams we should come away with at least 3 wins, most likely 4. if stafford gets hurt again you could add the lions to that list.

bears, saints x2, falcons x2, bucs x2, lions (w/ healthy stafford), and texans are all games that could go either way. i can see us winning half of these games. that would leave us with about 4 or 5 wins.

we have a real shot to go 8-8 or even 9-7 this year. playoffs? probably not, but we could play the role of spoiler for a NFCS team or 2 hoping to go to the playoffs and that would make me happy.

i feel confident that this team is better than the team fox got in 2002. i feel confident that we have a better coaching staff than we got with fox. that team went 7-9 out of the gate. this team should get at least that.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
