Fan experience at BoA

lightsout

You guys need to just come anyways. We struggle without you guys there and its embarrassing to have a stadium full of opposing team's fans. Who cares if they yell at u for standing, if you are not being belligerent they have no reason to yell.

Especially in the 500's Ive only had 1 person ever ask me to sit down and I just laughed and asked if he was kidding. lol in the 500's. what a jackass.

Remember being at the Coliseum during the first few Hornets' seasons? That's the atmosphere I'd like to see at BoA. I remember yelling at the top of my lungs and I couldn't hear myself. At all. Remember NBA players being worried that playing at the Coliseum could cause permanent hearing damage? Let's bring that to football.

Dont you dare compare us to the Steelers. Half those people are bandwagoners anyways;)

We definitely have some stringent rules though. Have to be sneaky with signs, no one can have a shirt off/paint your chest. People get yelled at for standing and being loud....but I just don't sit down. Don't see a reason to be seated while the D is on the field.

Our fans also need to learn to shutup with the O.

This bothers me too. When the D is on the field, fans should be making noise. Seattle fans go just to be loud and cause false starts.

i hate them too. Jerry loves them though. I wish he'd let the fans act the same way.

One friend lived in Pittsburgh for a while before moving here. He tells me that you have to wear the colors there, and you have to be rowdy. Otherwise your asking to be punished by other fans for not doing so. Like you are talking about with the heckling but sometimes it gets physical.

They also go that extra mile the way you see in many other stadiums. Like people with Troy jerseys also wear wigs. The browns have the dawg pound, raiders have the black hole, and even the skins have those fat cross dressing men.

Jerry isn't allowing us to have the full NFL experience IMO.

I don't think it's the end of the discussion. If fans were allowed to do more they'd become more a part of the game and atmosphere, and because of that they'd likely spend more money on concessions and items at the team store which would eliminate the need for the advertising. Eventually the stadium could be filled with people in Carolina colors much like the organization that Jerry wants to be like. I have friends that are fans of the steelers, and that's just how it is there. Every one is wearing black and yellow. Everyone is loud.

Go to any other NFL stadium and you will see the same kind of advertising. We're not different from any other NFL stadium, or MLB stadium, for that matter.

I've been to two other stadiums - Old Meadowlands, and Raiders Stadium.

Of the two, the Meadowlands were alot like BOA. Panthers were killing the Gmen and sure enough after the half was over their fans were filing out just like they do at BOA. More in your face stuff than here I guess, but overall they were pretty cool and congratulated us after the game was over. I had a great time.

Raiders - another story entirely. Once while returning from the can, I was truly scared by these gang-banger looking dudes. The guys dressed up for the Black Hole just yelled at you but the gang-banger guys were pretty scary. I wouldn't want that experience here, trust me.

Our rules are no different than most NFL stadiums. And I have been to every single home game since the beginning and only once have I seen people kicked out for yelling or standing -- and those were the obnoxious Cowboys fans I had escorted out when they were doing more than just that.

I haven't seen this stuff first hand b/c I haven't been to BOA yet, but I've heard so man stories...

Honestly, if it's that big of a problem, why don't people start emailing JR and Morrison like they did last year when they were unhappy about the team. It's clear that JR and Morrison love to answer people's questions and concerns... They did last year even when most of what they were getting was negative.

Start sending them emails about it and asking for changes in policies that are conducive to having a rowdy hometown crowd. It does seem when we are winning they get a little more lax on policies because the crowds do seem louder/better, but we need that all the time.

Im a bigger Bobcats fan than Panthers fan so I definitely go to more Bobcats games than Panthers games. Thats not saying Im not a huge Panthers games, Im just a basketball freak.

Anyways, the Panthers need to learn a lesson from the Bobcats as far as gametime presentation goes. Even if it's a medium sized crowd at the TWCA, it can get loud in there in the 4th q. of a close game. And the music they play during pre game, halftime, etc is definitely pump up music.

Last year the Cats came out on to the court to Im Goin In by Weezy, Drake, Young Jeezy for example.

And then you go to the Panthers game and you hear "Sweeeeeet Carollinnnnee, bum, bum, bum!". Im like: WTFFFFFFFFFFF

    • Its completely and utterly bootlicking at this point.  If you cannot acknowledge that using 3 picks on a rb with a torn acl in the 2nd round isnt a bad pick then you simply havent a clue about football.  Sorry man it is what it is.  And its insanely laughable you are trying to strawman this argument using other players.  And what fuging facts are you bringing that is justifing morgan using 3 goddamn picks on him?  I cannot wait to hear that.
    • Scourton's interviews are telling to me that it's only a matter of time before he could really put it together.  His limitation tool-wise that I see is in his bend, but at the leaner size, it looks like it wasn't a problem at Purdue.   He has a good moveset and reads leverages very well (vet level well).  Plays both the speed/quickness (great change of direction) and has a power game with good hand usage.  Moves from what I've seen in my digs: I'm seeing cross-chop, fake crossers into bull, bull rush, spin (his preferred move of choice), hand shuck.  He's not unrefined by any means.   If he can do 2 things---I'm feeling confident from seeing his interviews that we have a real dude on our hands: 1) Diversifying his moveset/how it's deployed - Over-reliant on some, but again, he has a growing palette.  And is already great with his hands so things are in-place to coach up. 2) Developing a counter moveset and starting to play the chess game with an OT - He's very good at reading leverage, knowing when to change things up during a play.  But NFL coaching should start to teach him how to really create a plan based on an opponent.  What to throw at a guy first, how to confuse with fakes/counters, etc.  How to play against these tackles as a game progresses.   Overall, he has some things that give me serious optimism: Run Defense, speed moves, power moves, he's super young and has the size/length.  When you really spell it all out, I think we should get excited.  Temper expectations from a stat sheet standpoint, but he should be able to go in and make an impact.
