The Real Real Real CB Situation (Why You Sound Stupid)

Some Arguments I Have Heard

Random Huddle Know it all: Our cornerbacks are terrible they can't cover anyone. Its the 2nd padded practice and they are getting beat on 7-7 drills

Well good sir 7-7 drills isn't real football. A pro NFL QB should do pretty well without a pass rush threat or linemen in his face. Even if they are rookies/sophomores. Plus our 1# corner has been sick.

Random Huddle Know it all: Yea Gamble is a washed up bum, why isn't he playing, we are paying him good enough!?

Beason, Greg Hardy and other players are not in pads and I don't hear many people whining about them.

Random Huddle Know it all: Still even with Gamble in the rest of the secondary is trash. Captian Munnerlyn can't start he's garbage. He is a Nickel at best, the secondary is awful with Marshall gone

Well Actually Munnerlyn has already started 9 games and played in 31. He played coverage (almost always last season) while Marshall primarily played nickel. When Gamble was out at the end of the season, Captain was often put on the oppossing teams best WR. He ended the season with a team lead 10 passes defended, and tied for 2nd with 3 ints and was the only player with a pick 6. He mad mistakes but it was only his 2nd year, he will be ok.

Random Huddle Know it all: Still he is too short to go up against tall WRs, what is he like 5'0? We should have brought in someone good like Asante Samuel, or Chris Carr, or atleast Hogan should win the job!

Captain is 5'8

Hogan is 5'9

Asante is 5'10

Carr is 5'10

Is 2 inches really that big of a difference. Smith is 5'8 maybe u should walk up to him and tell him he is too short to play WR.

Random Hudler: My gf said if I had 2 more inches she might be able to actually achieve climax in bed! Rabble Rabble Rabble!

Good sir, our pass defense was rated 4th in 2009 and 11th in 2010. Rivera had the number 1 rated pass defense I'm sure he will do the best he can.

Our offense was dead last and horrible too watch, and our Rush defense was pretty miserable. Now why all of a sudden is everyone terrified at CB after we lost a nickel corner?

The Panthers are rebuilding and Hurney likes to build through the draft I'm sure we will address CB next year.

Why would we bring in a 30 year old CB for a team that is building itself back up from the ashes after a 2-14 season. We should be lucky to win 6-8 games at best.

I know we have many reasonable fans here at the huddle, I was just talking to the vocal minority. Go Panthers!

the pass defense doesn't live in a bubble. our run defense was awful, teams just bled the clock on us most of the time. when we needed to stop people we had trouble. our pass defense may be good on the stat sheet but it was suspect during game time. I like Munnerly a lot but I would like to have some veteran competition in there.

I remember last year we were panicking about the Defense, injuries everywhere. Then they surprised the world and were ok.

Beason and the Charles Johnson seems to make sure everyone steps up and works hard. Since Beason got here the defense has held its own. As I said its the offense that needs to pick it up.

[snip]

Hogan is 5'9

Asante is 5'10

Carr is 5'10

Yes, it is. My ideal CB is around the area of 6'0, and Asante is closer to that. Also, Asante has proven he can preform where Captain hasn't. We would be going off on a limb, and if the chance we took on him backfired then we'd be in deep do-do (:3).

Depends. What is a realisted trade?

Who were our cornerbacks in the superbowl?

Reggie howard and Terry cousins with ricky manning at nickelback. Were they big named guys? No

Reggie howard - 5 ft 9

Terry cousin - 5 ft 10

ricky manning jr - 5 ft 9

All of them are out of the league now so please people stfu about the cornerbacks and focus on the d-line where the game is really played.

chef people making spelling mistakes its unfortunate the world isnt perfect like you.
