Smith injured a finger

Hoping it's not broken, but I'd expect him to still be ready Opening Day regardless unless it's some freak thing like Jake's supposedly was that year he went on IR.

Per Steve Reed

Some observations from Tuesday’s padded practice…

1. WR Steve Smith was carted off the field after injuring his finger in practice, but a team source told Carolina Growl it’s not broken.

The source said Smith’s hand was cut, but there are no broken bones.

That’s great news for Panthers fans.

Smith was taken to the locker room for x-rays.

Coach Ron Rivera initially feared Smith might have dislocated his finger, but x-rays proved otherwise.

The injury happened late in practice. He went down early in practice after a collision and it took him awhile to get back up, but he did return to practice.

“I’m not sure if it was dislocated or sprained or whatever,” Rivera said. “But they wanted to check it out and may get an x-ray. They just told me they had to take him up (to the locker room) so I’m assuming it might involve an x-ray.”

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
