Out of Market (TV) Huddlers

If you're like me, then you can't get the games. There's a thread going on right now about PS3 and DirecTV, but if your smart (and broke), like me, there is no way you're going to give up $300+ to get in on the action; that is, if you're not already a customer.

So, what are your options?

Online streaming? How's the quality?

Sports bar where you're in the corner rooting by your lonesome? What do you drink? [side note: it's probably cheaper in the long run to subscribe to DirectTV's package]

Buddy's house? How's his wife when she tells you to turn the volume down?

Wait until we play an in-market team?

I'm not really all that computer and TV savvy, so I usually just go to the bar. What are the best options? I know there's a way to hook up your computer to the TV if you do online streaming, but I don't know where to begin as far as that goes.

Comments, suggestions, flaming?

I am in cali and buy Sunday Ticket every year and just haggle the price down to something I'm comfortable with. Before that, I did the sports bar thing, but the lady didn't like me drinking so early on the weekends, especially if I had to drive home, which was always a dumbf*ck idea on my part.

I do not condone illegal streaming, but if you wanted to watch your legal NFL streams from your computer onto your tv, just hookup a cable from an hdmi out on your laptop to an hdmi in on your tv. Or use a DVI to HDMI, or a VGA to rca cable/s-video if you only have analog outs/ins.

Not to mention that when it's raining hard I call and complain that I didn't get to watch it that Sunday and they cut the price in half.

Tell me more about this, please... Ive had SundayTicket going on 7yrs now and did not know about this. They cut 1 payment in 1/2, or the Ticket cost? The best offer I could get this year was $10 off my total bill per month for the next year, free HD ($10) for 3 or 6 months, and Showtime free for 3 months... Last year it was $10 off each of the 6 SunTicket payments and the iPod viewing free, although I never watched it from my iPod I couldve if I wanted to... i read somebody on here got the Ticket for $200 because the commercial doesnt say "new customers only"...

Another option is the NFL's Game Rewind. It's $40 for the year, the only bad thing is that you can't watch the game until Monday morning and it's pretty damn hard to avoid finding out the score on Sunday. It's too bad that the NFL does offer a live-streaming service - but only for overseas customers.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
