When/If Peppers sign his tender?

When is the deadline to sign this tender. It should be coming up soon. I think he is trying to find a decent trade at this point. I know we can't do ne thing til he signs his tender but if we tell him to sign so we can trade him haha he might like the idea.

Personally the way things are going in Denver Cutler prolly wont be there come the start of next season. McDaniels says he wont be traded but i think his tune would change if we sent Peppers to the Broncos. I honestly think we could squeeze a 3rd and Cutler for Peppers. I know half the forum would say this is dumb gives us that qb that wont under throw a wide open deep receiver. Dont get me wrong i have faith in Delhomme but imagine those passes that were under thrown to Muhammed and Smith that could have been 6.

Cutler for Pep...no thanks. I'd rather have Jake than Jay Cutler. Plus, if we are going to lose a force like Julius Peppers, we need a high draft pick to where we can try to fill his spot.

Rather have Jake are you high or just so ignorantly blind to how bad Jake is. Even at his best his stats were vastly inflated because of all the terrible passes that Smitty just went up and got. Denver sucks and lost a 3 game division lead, but it was no fault of Cutler's. Their defense is anemic. Cutler had a beast of a receiver in Marshall and a speed demon in Royal, Moose is no marshall, but I think our receiving corps are pretty comparable. I would even say ours is better with the emergence of Jarrett. I would take that trade straight up cut Jake in a heartbeat, and push comes to shove Leftwich is still out there as an affordable veteran!!

We must end the era of Jake the flake in Charlotte!!!!!

Who would be possibly draft in the first round, realistically, that could fill Peppers' spot? I mean, I seen the draft board... and I don't really think a 2nd rounder, or even a 1st, is going to fix anything. I'd rather trade Peppers for another position, then worry about filling his.

exactly there is no equal value out there either in FA or the draft talent wise to fill Pepper's hole. Lets just try to at least upgrade a starting position on our team and deal him!!

I am praying that we do not extend Jake's contract that would be the biggest mistake since letting Witherspoon go and locking up Dizzy Dan Morgan

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
