Conversely, games where he is not touched he can put 5-6 TDs on your ass easy. I was watching the Pats-Bucs preseason game a few weeks ago, Brady was NEVER touched and looked like he was playing a video game. He had these huge pockets to work with and seemed very comfortable back there. You have to effectively pressure him from the interior if you plan on beating him.

...while he was waaaaaaaay off in the preseason, that Jets game isn't a good example of a quarterback playing poorly when he gets pressured.

Granted for Tom Brady 300 yards and 2 touchdowns is playing poorly I guess. ;)

while it's true the play of every quarterback will go down the less pocket they have to work from, one of the marks of the great ones are that they can deal with that pressure... but that doesn't mean they can win games on their own, either.

The defensive tackle position has to be handled, just like JOAT said. Not only for stopping the run, but keeping our LB's clean when they blitz.

Or to keep QB's from just simply stepping up in the pocket to avoid the outside rush, ala last season.

brady is pretty well known for destroying people who blitz him with pressure, but it is true a lot of that is because his o-line is good enough to give him the precious few seconds to get the ball off... the jets seemed to rely on making him sit back there an eternity with nobody throwing to him to rattle him in the playoffs.

Ur right....that was not only the funnest thing but even I was upset that he didn't at least try to run and get some yardage for his team when there were openings..Just sat in the pocket...It was a funny and "WTH moment" all rolled into one.
