Possible one game suspension for Woodson?

Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan duked it out last year and didn't get suspended. It's not just a GB preference.

NFL didn't want to suspend the game's best receiver and couldn't suspend Finnegan if they didn't suspend Johnson. My point is there is no consistency when it comes to dolling out punishment in the NFL.

Adam Schefter just explained that he will only receive a fine, the NFL will not suspend him for some mistake they made (not ejecting him from the game)

So if he would have slit his throat and the officials didn't see it, then the NFL wouldn't do anything? I don't really buy that logic. Why didn't he just say you don't get suspended for throwing a punch. No need making it complicated.

yes, they were both kicked out of a game (which hurt/punished their teams).

Woodson's Packers get got off the hook......which IMO is a double standard.

Of course I don't know if we experienced this kind of situation in the Goodell era before. To protect the shield, Goodell may pull the trigger on this one. Yet as one who likes competition, I can't say I want Woodson suspended. It would be a great opportunity for Cam to experience a great defense at full strength.

Our win record says otherwise.

What about the other mistakes made in that game, the Hawk penalty, the spotting on the punt, is the NFL going to fix those too?

Id take a win over playing a powerhouse team at full strength any day

Last night when he threw a punch, Collinsworth said by rule he should have been tossed out of the game. Do any of you think Goodell will try to correct the error of the refs, and suspend Woodson for our game?:D

Maybe they were afraid he would use his

on them?

Of course, I'm kidding... because I don't think the guy who got punched even felt it. He didn't move that I saw.

I wish someone would have thrown Collinsworth out of the game.

Or punched him in the solar plexus with a Falcon Punch. GOD DAMN I can't stand him... he says to Al, with ~6:30 left in the game... "There's no need to rush. There's plenty of time for New Orleans to come back" (they were down 15 at that point). FAIL.

And fugin Al Michael's had the audacity to brown nose him and say he is a all star replacement for Madden. PFFFFT on that poo.

Not sure if the refs saw the uppercut. I was watching the replay and it looked like, from the refs standpoint, that Woodson just pushed him away. Even though it was clear from the other side that he punched.

What about players who get ridiculous fines for hits that they were never even flagged for? Surely a personal foul could warrant a suspension afterwards.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
