Man. That's the exact same thing Chris Paul said to me (give or take six exclamation points) when I asked him a similar question during last year's playoffs. So here we go again. Deron Williams and Chris Paul. D-Will and CP3. The undercard in the great LeBron versus Kobe debate.

we need a lawyer.. someone call LenDale's people..

Too bad it IS D-Lo. Both Minter and Jake have called him that on the air. Who cares though, obviously, but D-Will is terrible sounding. Just bc you say "J-Stew" doesn't mean you copy the formula with DeAngelo. I've known a handful of DeAngelo's who were called D-Lo, however, so it works.

Let this be my only nickname post until 2010. kthnx.

I hope they take D-will and that everyone here that ever uses it gets banned.

I've called him DWill since before he even got drafted and I will continue.

Doesn't bother me that much when you do it. Most of my huddle viewing is while you're in class.

J-Del has been swagger jacked by everyone. Our QB has been rocking the J-Del nickname for years on set of his Bojangle's commercials. I think he even has one of those little director chairs on set w/ the nickname and everything.

How many times are we gonna have to go OVER and OVER this. It started 2 years ago in TC. The players were copying the J-Lo thing by using first initial and the first 3 letters of the last name. D-Will, J-Pep, etc. Now you are all informed. No excuses!

..and it's every bit as lame now as it was then. Who would have thought NFL fans were so easily influenced by Entertainment Tonight.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
