..into the league of "real" nfl football teams. Teams like the Steelers and Cowboys, teams that always get the press and have a huge fan base. Lets be honest here, Cam Newton easily has the potential to be the biggest star in football. If you give superstar stats to a man who has the looks, the charisma, the professionalism, the work-ethic and that huge grin hes always rockin, he can easily become much bigger than Tom Brady, Peyton or Favre.

What I'm wondering is it possible we see a massive influx of fans? Are we going to be on Sunday Night Football? Are we going to be on the front page of NFL.com (check)? Could Cam bring us into that league of teams?

The Panthers led every highlight show I've seen tonight whether on TV or online. And that's in a LOSS. We've received less coverage on some playoff wins.

Cam led it, not the Panthers. No one believes the Panthers are world-beaters after losing to Arizona.

If he has a preseason-like game next week and they lose, this week's stats won't mean all that much. Had they won this week, then he threw 3 INTs in a loss next week, they wouldn't have been able to take this weeks win from him or the team.

If he sucks big time next week, they will take away this week's glory, therefore, it doesn't really matter.

Cam will be on the front page... But the team... Well we may sneak in a mention or two.

Cam is the team. You hear Tom Brady, you think the Patriots. You hear Peyton Manning, you think the Colts. You hear Cam Newton, you think the Carolina Panthers.

Let's not start this "they only like us for Cam" garbage.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
