Why do people keep saying our O-line sucks?

With Bernardeau in, they suck.

However, the line we had in on Sunday has the chance to be good. Keep in mind that they are still learning a new, complicated offense. They were facing a 3-4 defense that was sending 9 players half the time. Knowing blocking schemes and playing without thinking makes a huge difference. I promise if you ask the o-line to tell you what's wrong, they will say we are thinking instead of reacting. Expect more of the same from Green Bay. Capers is going to try and confuse the hell out of our o-line and QB. That is how you defeat a new offensive and defensive system at any level.

Green Bay does NOT send 9 players on blitzes half the time.

Kinda hard to open up holes when you have 8 in the box and zone dog and jail break blitzes coming at you all day. Thats why you have a passing game and you punish them for doing that and we did. It just so happens out Defense could not get there poo together enough. I fully expect out players will learn how to tackle or die with Rivera.

Maybe it's my nostalgia for our 2003-2004 O-line, but teams we're doing that to us back then too. Teams knew we were going to rush Davis up the middle on a regular basis. And it didn't stop us from punching through their D.

While we may have never been amazing at buying our QB time, we have been better than this, and when it comes to pushing forward for the run, we have been A LOT better than what we're seeing right now.

Even when we were throwing for less than 200 yards and rushing on just about every down up the middle we were still getting 2-3 yards. Now we either barely get back to the line of scrimmage or our running backs keep hitting a wall. I don't know how many times it happened this past Sunday, but it was enough for me to continue to notice the issue repeat over and over.

    • People keep talking about them because that’s all the talking heads talk about.  For instance, just this year the committee said that a conference loser should not be penalized, they left out “only if you are Alabama” because the other 2 did and a 3 loss team didn’t drop a damn spot!  It’s sickening.  The world does not revolve around that shitty institution that gave us Bryce Young.  And now that everyone can legally pay players I hope to God they never sniff another championship…no offense.
    • Mendoza is such a goober
    • Bama definitely hasn’t had the best of anything for the last few years, but somehow, they’re still the program everyone talks about. I get it though. Their run under Saban was historic, so everyone wants to kick them when they’re down.
