Voting for anyone else but Cam just shows how little this award is about the best performances versus a popularity contest. Plus most fans who vote don't know for example that some positions are much harder to master as a rookie versus others. Throwing for 400 yards as a rookie is much harder for example than rushing for 200 yards. Quarterback takes a ton more work and preparation versus running back which is mostly instinctive and take little actual film work and preparation. And a kickoff return is even less prepartion and moreso opportunity and great blocking by his teammates.

But in the end not getting it is actually better for Newton. It is just another slight he can use to fuel his fire like Smitty does every week.

No i'm not a Packers fan. I do like a handful of their players, Rodgers, Woodson, Matthews. I mean whats not to like? Also was a huge Favre fan. Love the way their football organization is run , top notch. They know how to build a championship team. More teams should copy their blueprint. But just because i respect them doesn't mean i'm a fan. I feel about them the way i do New England or Pittsburgh, respect but no love.

      I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.

      Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
