My surrogate team for awhile has been the Texans.

-AFC team we don't play all that often.

-Youngest Franchise.

-Young talented team that has playoff potential.

-Underdogs who haven't made it to the playoffs yet, and have had to contend with Peyton Manning twice a year.

-Cool logo.

-Houston sounds like an alright place.

I also have liked the Chargers since I was a kid, but as long as Norv Turner is their coach, I have a hard time pulling for them.

I'm and NC State alum who went to school while Rivers was there, so I'm a big Chargers fan and pull for them over anyone unless they are playing the Panthers. I try to watch them every weekend online since they usually don't make the broadcasts around here.

I also like the Texans because of Mario but not enough to actively follow them, just enough to be happy when they win and have a knockoff ebay "authentic" Williams jersery.

Do you have a problem? He's an amazing QB and the greatest player in Virgina Tech history. Just because he fuged up doesn't mean that I have to hate him forever.[/QUOTE]

Yes you do. He was the Panthers nemesis for years.... so he isn't let off the hook that easy.

Plus........ he was a foulcunt and now he's an eagirl, you have too hate.

    • The price to trade for him, would likely completely bankrupt our future draft assets. I would have been all for a Hendrickson or Parsons trade in maybe 2017 or 2018. But this team is so far from being good and needs SO much help to build, those draft picks are almost priceless.  Let's not forget the insane cost it took to get Bryce and how much that harmed our drafting ability.
    • People like to say that, but I don't know if it's true. We went a few years trying to answer the QB question on the cheap amid bad coaching. We did what other teams do and tried to address QB by giving up a king's ransom and moving up. I mean, I guess that could be considered a "splash move," but I see it more as trying to draft the next big thing at QB.  I think that he's been more impatient than anything else. He gave too much power to Rhule who didn't know what the hell he was doing and relied on Fitterer who left a lot to be desired as well. Sure, we may have tried to get Watson and Stafford, but that's all a part of trying to answer the question at QB. "Splash moves?" maybe, but I think it's just business as usual for teams without a QB. Parsons would be a "splash move," but he's about as sure a thing that you could acquire for the capital.
    • Yeah, not sure about that unless we really have a dominant offense, especially running game. If not.....then what was it worth?
