Cam Newton/Tom Brady to make NFL history Sunday.

The start to the 2011 NFL season has been both expected and unexpected.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has passed for 940 yards over the first two weeks of the season -- 517 yards in Week 1 and 423 yards in Week 2. You can't expect crazy numbers like that but, considering it's Brady, it wasn't the world's biggest surprise.

What was a surprise, however, was QB Cam Newton nearly matching Brady. Newton threw for 422 yards in Week 1 and 432 yards in Week 2.

Now both players have a shot at history, as ESPN's Trey Wingo points out.

Star-divide

Both Tom Brady and Cam Newton have a shot at history Sunday. No qb has EVER throw for at least 400 yds in three straight games

Brady's going up against the Bills and, while he's eclipsed the 370-yard mark a couple times, he's never hit 400. Newton, meanwhile, is in his third NFL game so we're still trying to figure out whether he's or real or if this is a fluke.

Do they both get it?

Brady? I wouldn't be suprised a bit simply because they don't have a highly used rushing attack and it's the fuging Bills...regardless of how good the Bills are playing it's still the fuging Bills.

Cam? I'm gonna say no just because this coaching staff knows after losing 2 games with Cam throwing for 400+ that there is definite need for balance, especially in the red zone. Cam won't throw for 400 because RR won't let him. This team needs balance in order to win.

i think that neither will do it they both will have solid games but they will not make history. i am, however, looking forward to seeing what cam will do (not a cam nut hugger), i am more looking forward to seeing how our defense does after losing T.D. to another acl tear, overall though i think both will be good games to watch.

And what's wrong with hugging on Cam's nuts? What, u can't be proud of ur new QB and what he has done so far? He's urs. Heck if the media can be slobbering all over Andrew Lucks nuts and he's not even in the NFL, then u can slobber all over Cam's.

im not sure we can get jaguars run game off the field between the 20s. as we all know, doing that eats clock. i think we will do what works, which means we will try the run game and abandon it if we cant get good yards. jags are a top run D so far and i expect cam to do well again.

as for brady, its doable. the patriots will struggle against bills run game and if managed correctly, i wouldnt be suprise if the bills take them down. if the bills gets down early, brady will get his 400.
