I just realized something....we HAVE TO win.

We hear it all the time in sports....this is for so and so. But this time it really is true.

This is for pride and face. This is for Hurney's and Rivera's reputation as well as Cam's. Cam, please don't make them look bad for picking you over Gabbert. And the last thing I want is a bunch of Jaguar fans rubbing that in our face.

Not to mention if you lose, this puts an end to the media bandwagon. No more TV for you! At least not the good kind. We're going to hear about this from Skip Bayless all freaking week. If there ever was a game to win, other than a playoff game, this is it.

No pressure, but a loss is unacceptable. Don't fug up! Just win please.

PS: I'm so damn excited I have yet to be able to fall asleep.

Hurney and Rivera should feel the pressure to win every week. I'm sure they felt like week 1 was a must win. It was a harder loss to take because we kinda had that game in hand and then let it slip through our fingers with that punt return TD. I thought the AZ game was a must win from the standpoint of wondering where our wins are going to come from this year. It was an opportunity. No one expected us to beat GB (and we came pretty damn close). Now the Jags come in and they look lame and like easy prey.

Expectations are already super high for this Jax game. I know it looks like we match up well against them, esp. with Gabbert starting. But all the confidence and the "must-win" talk is starting to give me some bad mojo...

In week 3, its hard for me to leap right into "must win." I like our chances if the D can contain MJD, put pressure on Gabbert, and Cam can explode into space like a true nature's child...

Even if the Jags were to win, it wouldnt mean picking Cam over Blaine was dumb. Cam could turn out to be something the league has never seen before, and Blaines ceiling isnt that high. It is a team game. If Cam passes for 400 yards, 4 tds and 0 ints, but Blaine gets the W because of Jones Drew, would you wish you had Gabbert?

I gotta agree with PFL on this one. We need the confidence boost a W will bring. A win here could really help and maybe push us to 8-9 wins for the year. Yes I said that and its too early for me to be drinking yet. On the flip side there is no way even if Jacksonville wins that I wish we would have taken Gabbert. Just saying this could be the diff between 8-9 win season or a 4 win season.

Without balance on the offensive side we will not win. It's time to call plays outside of the box, we have become to predictable. We need plays that keep the defense off balance.

Fore our first play I'd like to see a play action bootleg, WR running a curl with the TE running a post corner.

Second play a counter run play out of a double TE set.

With each play called change the formation, think different look similar play.

You just realized this after making multiple posts in the exact same thread 5 days ago??

No smart ass. That this is one of those games that is actually FOR something more than just a win.

We hear it all the time in sports....this is for so and so. But this time it really is true.

This is for pride and face.

And believe me if Gabbert wins and outplays Cam, it will really affect Cam's perception in the media. They WILL start talking mad poo.

They weren't talking poo about Cam before? We should win this game. However there are no must wins for our team at this point.

You still don't see it, do you?

"Gabbert beats #1 pick. Can Cam Newton win at the NFL level?"

Skip Bayless: "Cam Newton is not in the same league as Gabbert"

Vomits.

And nonsense. Every win is a must win, but this one has extra meaning attached to it.
