K5 Blazer

My husband and son have lost their minds. Well, maybe not. It'll give them something to do together, like spend money.

My husband had a K5 blazer fall into his hands and jumped on it for our son. It needs a little work, but it's drivable and the 4wd works. Engine was just rebuilt.

I'm actually surprised my son hasn't put it in the mud yet. But, he and his friend left on it earlier, so that might be what they're doing. I just found a pic on fb of our new truck somewhere caked with mud. The big bunny is pissed.

Better puts some tires on that thing or you'll be getting pulled out of said mud.

There's a list of things to be done. Getting the steering tightened is first, followed by weather strips and a new windshield. A/C needs a line. Paint. Tires will probably be next to last, since the one's on there are pretty good and he's wanting super swampers and a lift kit.

LMAO mush. He drove it to get something to eat, and burned a 1/4 tank. He's already bitching. And he thought the truck was bad on gas. lol He's going to have to work more hours to afford the gas. He may be ready to sell it after a couple of weeks of all his paycheck going in the tank.

Meh don't tighten the steering ... my Jeep has about 2" of play in it... you get used to it.

The GMC version was my first truck. I did have the 6.2L diesel in it, so the fuel cost was not as bad.

I would give anything to have it back.

Apparently they can take a beating, too. It's already been in a ditch. My son was on the way to get gas, went around a curve, and it locked up on him. Everything shut down. We didn't think to tell him you have to have at least a 1/4 tank in there at all times. He's fine, truck is fine, friends are fine.

He had me on speaker phone the entire time, and he didn't panic. A mom was also behind him. Scared him shitless, though.

at least it's a safe vehicle, even if you may not be able to drive it as much cuz of the gas, which can limit the amt. of time you can spend in it.

Offroading is too much fun. I bought my coworkers old jeep for 4k just to trail ride, since I didn't want to risk my daily driver truck.
