Peppers conference call recap

Says Newton looks athletic on tape, he likes his composure in the pocket, how he buys time with his feet and fights for extra yardage.

He likes Chicago "a lot" says he's happy and is gonna be happy.

Said him and Fox never had anything personal, and all that stuff of him returning and playing his old team is "old news" and he's over that, and it's just a regular game for him that he needs to win.

Says Eric Washington did a good job, in Chicago during his tenure.

Said nothing was personal about last year's game and he was just happy to get a win.

His primary home is still in Mooresville.

He's proud of CJ cause he was a like a "little brother"

He's only close with CJ and Steve, but doesn't keep in touch with the other players.

Overall it's the same arrogant manner, and voice of Peppers.

His team is 1-2 just like the Panthers, so no need for arrogance. I like our pass protection this season, and he's now just another defensive end that will need to be gameplanned against. I trust our guys to protect Cam.

Fug him, and anyone else on the Bears.

To this day I don't know why Peppers made a clown of himself and left on bad terms. We were nothing but nice to the guy. Coaches, ownership, and the entire city. We adored him from day one and always gave him a ton of support and money. When the rest of the league and analysts were down on him during his 1 sack season most people stood by Peppers and knew there was more to him than just stats. And I don't see how Richardson telling him to be a leader is something that pissed him off. It's truly a shame and it's all his fault that he alienated himself. We should've traded him or something after 2008, but there was no reason for him to act the way that he did. Be a professional.

Last year when he came back he was acting like the typical ass that he has become with his "shhh" to the crowd. He'll find out that our offense is vastly improved on Sunday and he won't stay this cocky for long. Can't wait for Newton to school him like Vick did back in 2002.

You know it's funny cause he said CJ wasn't a professional when he started out here and is now more "mature" he's a hypocrite, and I don't see how CJ or Steve still retain a relationship with this douche.

    • I mean, he's a professional athlete.  What you think as a fan vs what he should think as a player are completely different.  Being bad doesn't mean you should lack confidence in yourself, and really that is true in all forms of life.  Do everything you want to do with confidence. Justin Fields sucks, but does he ever play like someone who doesn't believe in his own abilities?   Obviously you need more than confidence to be a high-level NFL player, and Bryce will never be that.  But he could still create 2-3 extra plays a game if he allowed himself to play more "free" like he did in the second half of last season.  The fact he refuses to use his legs to pick up yards nowadays hurts this team.  Simple things like that would go a long way for us, even if not for him.
    • I've always thought it odd that the QB is the only guy in the roster who carries a record. If a RB puts up 1200 yards but the team sucks then everyone still says the RB had a good year. If a QB puts up good numbers put the D is atrocious and the win loss record isn't great due to that then the narrative is that the QB can't win. Now that we're finding a way to win with suddenly dominant D and dominate running game people are trying to shift to this "Bryce is just a winner" narrative while he puts up bottom of the league numbers while near the top of the league in turnovers. It's just funny to watch.
