The Official Naanee is Garbage Thread

LOL, I was really really quick and fast when I was young and was not afraid of bigger guys because they could never cover me or get a solid hit on me. In fact, most big guys can't move their feet or hit very hard anyway, which is why it's so hard to find those stud DT's and RT's. That is not a threat, it's just me reliving my glory days for a second.

And my man crush is on Cam Newton, thank you very much. Naanee is just a guy. He's not a star, but he's not garbage either and he deserves a little credit for making a nice play. Can't make it any clear than that.

Continue on with your little irrational hate fest though. That's more your problem than mine anyway.

Soft players don't block like Naanee does. He's not just blocking DB's either, he's taking on LBers and even DE's.

If you want to call somebody garbage, then save it for guys like Dwayne Jarrett, who was blessed with all the talent in the world, but was too lazy to make it in the NFL. Naanee is not lazy or soft. If he was lazy, you can bet your ass that Steve Smith would have pointed it out by now.

i don't know what your definition of blocking is, but i've yet to see him do anything other than crumple

he's scared of contact. he's the only one cam is really innacurate with. and he's made one good catch and one decent block starting in 8 games as the #2 receiver. 2 plays do not wipe out 6 games of falling down

hell one of his "great blocks" yesterday was just him falling down at the damn line of scrimmage and curling into a fetal position

At one point during the game the announcers were talking up his blocking ability and how you can use him as a lead blocker in the run game. They had the camera zoom in specifically on him and what does he do on the play... falls down with no contact lol hilarious. i swear he has to lead the league in falling down on his own

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
