So who would you like the Panthers to draft with our 4th overall pick?

Lastly i don't get the weight issue crap. Jeez man there is a huge difference in the college 15 and NFL ready. Alshon fits exactly what Cam needs a big tall WR that can make circus catches and go up and get em. I mean i understand to justify taking a DT, DE or for christsakes a LB with a top 5 pick or passing on a top WR you have to tear them down a little but lets be real.

At first I thought this was photochopped, but if he does indeed have weight issues, no thank you. Blackmon looks like the only true Fitzgerald-type WR thus far and maybe Floyd a 2nd option....still too early in the year to tell. Jefferey could still turn out to be a beast, but he's gonna have to avoid buffets and hope that Garcia's replacement at SC helps inflate his stats (no pun intended).

Little premature. We've been a second half team before. Look at the 2009 season.

As far as who I want, I want a solid DT or a linebacker with the first pick. WR just isn't smart, considering the depth and youth of our receivers. Sure, an Alshon or Blackmon would INSTANTLY improve our WRs, but we have bigger needs. Need DT/LB first and foremost. Then, in the 2nd round, we take which ever we didn't take in the first round between DT/LB. 3rd round, we take a DB/WR/OL. Whichever position has the best guy. After that, it's just depth wherever we need it.

WHAT DEPTH? Show me 1 WR other than Smith who has produced when on the field. OH but but but Gettis will be back next year right? Can't count on that. poo he might get hurt again. Edwards sucks Lafell sucks. Nanee SUCKS. NOW WHAT?

If we're picking fourth? Pull a big trade to the 15-20 range and add another second round pick. Take my avatar.

If you are dropping from 4th to late teens, you better get more than a 2nd (especially with the QB's at the top of this draft). If you don't, you got raped.

He came into college with no weight lifting experience at all, He couldn't even bench 130. He's now up to 250 and weights 240+ at 6-4.

So he's over weight for his size and is a weakling when it comes to strength.

He's already got a history of either not working out at all or stopping all together as soon as the season is over.

Yet some actually consider him the #1 WR..... WTH????

If we're picking in the top 5 and can't trade back, I would agree that you can't pass up on Alshon or Blackmon....right now, this is what my top 5 would look something like if the Panthers were picking fourth.

Colts-Luck

Dolphins-Barkley

Rams-Kalil

Panthers-Jeffery/Blackmon

Vikings-Jeffery/Blackmon

I think we'll be picking higher than 4th though. The Panthers always start playing better later in the year so I think the latter half of the top 10.

    • Bruce Arians said when evaluating a college prospect they have to win on 3rd down and in the 2 min drill to be successful in the nfl.
    • We took Luke when we had Jon Beason, and a hurt Jonathon Brooks when we had Chuba. Just noting.  I don't think teams are going to pass up on an impact player regardlessly if whether they need something else. There's a good argument that drafting an inferior player, and especially an obviously inferior player, based upon need is a pathway to failure.  I'm glad we took Tetairoa McMillan even though there were arguably bigger needs.
    • As much as I'd love Cam or Mahomes I'd also settle for a QB that is at least better than average at something other than 4th quarter comebacks/game winning drives. He's literally bottom third in the league in most categories (yards, completion percentage, int percentage/turnovers, YPA, IAYPA, QBR and QB rating) and right around average in a couple others, notably TD % where he is 15th and YAC/PA where he is 9th. If Bryce can improve I'll be happy with him. But all this stuff about us asking for perfection / insane ability is a bit ridiculous. Most of us "haters" just see a QB that is basically below average over his career to date and has shown relatively little consistency in his third year.  NFL offenses don't need 400 yards every week at all, but they do require a QB that can move the ball, and Bryce struggles often with that (hence why our overall offensive rank is so bad despite an overall good rushing rank).
