Good article on Cam and his affect on the game

Also, look at it this way, in regards to Peyton last year through 6 vs Cam this year through 6. Since we have to account for Cam's running ability and his production there, let's look at total TD/TO ratio for Cam as an individual.

After Atlanta, he's sitting at 14-9. Now, let's think here. The first pick was just a tremendous play by the linebacker. 9 times out of 10, that is a ball that isn't tipped. Had Cam held it 1 second later, the linebacker would have been cleared due to the TE coverage he had, and it is a TD. So, let's drop that. Then, the screen pick was a freak play. 9 out of 10, that is either a missed bat down or just a bat down. Take that out. Last pick was a garbage time, meaningless INT. Take that out. Now, you're looking at 14-6. Not too shabby, in comparison to Peyton's 13-2 last season.

I know, it's all a matter of what MIGHT have been, but Cam's picks vs Atlanta really were not his fault. I think we all know that. Hell, had Steve had time to plant his feet, he out-jumps the DB for that first pick and it is a TD. Had a lineman got a hat on the fatass on the screen INT, that never happens. The last one, had we not dug ourselves in a hole, would have never happened, since it was clear by the way it was thrown that Cam said "fug it" and just threw up a jump ball.

A lineman did have a hat on him. He just recognized the play and started to drop back.

Cam. Revolutionizing the way the QB position is scouted. ;)

For those who wondered how Cam will revolutionize the QB position watch Griffin III's draft stock skyrocket (if he and Cam both keeps their current pace).

You said he would revolutionize the game, not just the QB position ;)

Yeah, NFLN had the Falcon/Panthers game on Sound FX and ur right.

From what I've seen so far, the receivers on the Panthers' team always seem to be a step behind the defenders on the opposing teams way to much these pass 6 weeks. And sadly, the defense is no better.

2 of Cam's ints, were clearly the fault of the receivers in the Falcon game. Especially, that one with Stevie in the endzone. Even thou that lineman tip it, Stevie still was in position to catch it. It wasn't as if the other defender was all over him. That int was his fault. But it also just seem as if the Panthers receivers are having a hard time getting free.

You think the intercepted screen was the RB fault?

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
