Rivera compared Cam to Walter Payton...

Summary for those too lazy to watch

No injuries. Jordan Pugh continuing with concussion protocol. Omar Gaither was running and may be back in limited practice.

Talks a lot about half-time adjustments. Cut down on penalties in the second. Says they're disappointing and at times absolutely unacceptable. Says personal fouls are what really gets to him (Thomas Williams committed both).

Liked what Phillips brought to the game starting at WLB. Mentions that we're still going by a committee though. Thought James Anderson was a beast. Dan Connor was solid and good against the run, improving.

Talks about dropping two interceptions and saying we blew the TD where Beck ran it in. Says we can play a lot better. Apparently Rivera gave Hardy an ear full after that play who made some good plays afterward.

Mentions he took his philosophy of a vertical attack and aggressive football from Norv Turner and said the only guy he considered for OC was Chudzinski, whose contract had just ran out.

Question about Smitty wanting to leave and Rivera asked to give him and the new staff a chance to find a franchise QB to help the team win as soon as possible.

Asked about Cam giving his football away to the kid after scoring. Says we need more fans. Show that they'll give everything to the fans that they expect and hopes that instead of seeing some Skins fans, one day he can look into the stands and it'll just be a sea of blue.

Says Walter Payton is the only player he's seen that's loved football as much as Cam does. Loves playing and hating to lose. Have the same amount of charisma/charm.

Once again asked about LaFell/Naanee. Doesn't go any further than he has before.

Asked about concern with Cam taking hits. Says he was nervous on the helicopter hit. But Cam is learning since he ran out of bounds a few times. Doesn't know if anyone is better to carry the ball if you need a big score/gain.

Oh god yes, the days of Charlotte being the biggest bandwagon city in the world must come to an end.

I love Rivera.

Lets just hope he can get rid of these ridiculous mistakes and get our defense back to the way it should be in a year or 2

This

I wish the damn naysayers would shut their asses up about rivera being a bad coach, undisciplined, etc. It's like we all of a sudden have a bunch of Philly fans in our fan base.

If you don't like where this team is going, you obviously don't like girls.

Slow down now, this team is still very sloppy and undisciplined at times.

I'm not arguing that.

It's the people that call for riveras head after a game full of penalties 7 games into a season with basically a new team. Those are the fans that piss me off, and that I can't stand.

    • So we cut him if we don't give him the option?  I'm pretty sure there are players who didn't get the 5th-year option that played year four of their rookie contracts with their draft team.
    • I didn't say do nothing if we don't draft one in the 1st and I"m not counting on a FA to magically become a franchise QB. But signing a FA to be our starter for the year and then re-address the next offseason would be FAR better than reaching on the wrong QB in the 1st this offseason. Feeling we HAVE to find our long term solution just because we need a new QB is how we got into this mess.  We thought Two Gloves would be at worst an average level QB for a few years, that didn't happen, so we went out and traded for Darnold.  That didn't work so we went out and traded for Baker, that didn't work so we went out and traded up to get Bryce. Our last 4 QB moves were all trying to force a solution, none of them worked out, and we're still trying to find Cam's replacement all these years later.  We'd just have been better off spending a year or two building up the rest of the team and going year to year on FA QB's while doing so.  I get it, it will be frustrating to deal with, but then when you find that actual long term solution, they plug right into an already built out roster and you're ready to contend immediately.
    • Great win, should be 3-0 but I'll take 2-1. LaMelo is an MVP caliber player, period.   This is looking like an incredible draft so far. Sion James looking like the exact type of role player that all contending teams need to have, absolute steal in the 2nd. Kalk is a work in progress and I question how much upside he has but he's already been a considerable upgrade at C for us compared to the last several years (outside of healthy Mark which of course was rare).   Really seems like new ownership/front office has change the culture here significantly. Every guy looks bought in now.
