Been said before and is pure speculation, but would make the Peppers to NE saga a little more complicated. Also, what the f**K is the deal with everybody thinking they are going to get a ring if they sell their soul and go to fight for Capt. Hoody? When was the last time the Patriots even won a championship?

I can see buying into the Patriot mystique (to a point, anyway).

Saw this item earlier though and thought the same thing. If the Patriots are the object of Peppers desire, he really does need to take Bellichick's advice ("get off your butt and sign your tender, numbskull") or he could see someone like Taylor taking his opportunity while he winds up out in the cold.

You are right. If Taylor becomes a Patriot, all this talk of Pep to NE should die.

Lawdie...I have said on here FOREVER that he would probably be a Pat someday if the $$ is right...since before he got dumped by Miami...:P

It's far, far smarter use of their dollars if they feel they have some guys they can get in the draft to convert to OLB to get a guy like JT who can help them transition some new OLBs into their system because he can already play that position than to take a $$$ AND draft pick gamble on Pep being able to convert.

This wouldn't have been as much an issue if pep had gotten on the ball.

If Pep wants to go to the Pats, he'd better do something quick. Sign the tender...let the Pats/Panthers talk. Time is ticking. I know you hear it (how could you not?).

    • While I agree with you in spirit my gut and my heart says I'm not falling for this again until I see consistent results across the entire upcoming season. Then I'll breathe a sigh of relief and truly feel better about the future.
    • After some time to process and also in light of other small markets being successful and not requiring top overall picks to compete. This years finals looming large. While I readily acknowledge the league office clearly despises our franchise and has absolutely no qualms about us getting the short end of any stick in the draft lottery. The Hornets may just be doomed regardless due to their own mismanagement and inability to draft and develop legitimate playoff worthy talent. And we seemingly always pick the wrong player in the draft. I mean at this point we can even take a hard look at the 2020 draft and someone like Haliburton going pick 12 while Ball went 3rd. Did we draft the wrong guy or are we just that inept at any level of talent development or is it a mixture of both? Looks the latter right now.
    • I feel we are already moving in a better direction before we even take a snap this season.  We have hope now.  People are talking about us brewing something special. Remember how dismal things were when Rhule was here?
