One name I really start to like is Dontari Poe DT, Memphis

The last thing we need is another rookie DT. We need help at that position, but unless there is a Suh in this draft, then we need a veteran, not another rookie. Our DE starters are set with Hardy and Johnson for a long time, so spending a high first round pick on someone to replace Antwan Applewhite would be a waste.

Our secondary has played surprisingly good, but not great, with Hogan still yet to see the field. If we can get a good vet DT in free agency, then that can do as much to help the secondary than adding another young cornerback.

Which leaves LB as our last defensive need. We have enough veteran talent in this group (Beason & Anderson) that adding a high round rookie wouldn't be as much of a hindrance while he learns to play in the NFL.

That being said, if we can get one of the top offensive tackles or one of the two top receivers, then those would probably be bigger needs than adding another linebacker (as long as we address DT in free agency).

First of all there is no DT in this draft worth taking in the top 15. So once we can get Ron Edwards back and get a rotation going with Fua and Mclain we can see what we have. CB is not really a need but we could go after one. I like Dre kirkpatrick and Morris Claiborne who I see as the Top CB's in the draft. OLB is a need but I dont know if it's a first round pick need. There are a couple of guys like Zach Brown from NC and Travis Lewis from OU, who will be good prospects but they are defintely not woth a top 15 pick.

So going off need at BPA I will say it looks like this. OT, OLB, CB,DT,and WR.

hmm just like there was no QB to take within the top 15 last year as many stamped and pouted about when we took Cam(maybe not you but many did). Unless we have some secret scouts around here we won't know where players are going to be drafted until close to draft time.

Blackmon, Kalil....might have shot at blackmon

Rams will draft before us, so Kalil will be gone :(

I think he's the best player not named Andrew Luck in the draft.

As for Blackmon... would love to get Cam a big time playmaker, but I think we need to address the needs on defense considering we aren't doing to badly right now with what we got.

You can look at my SN and tell that I love Zach Brown, but his size would concern me greatly for this defense. He has great speed and is having a great season, but I'd like to see us go with size and versatility if we did go with LB first. I usually don't get to overly concerned with ILB/OLB labeling when they are such a high major prospect. They are good enough to come in and find a role that gets them on the field early. Beason has played every LB position for us because he's just that good. But he's so good you can't help but notice how much better he looks playing the middle. Would have been something special to see him run this defense. Here's to a full 100% recovery.

Alshon Jeffrey then go D rest of the draft.

Don't pass up an elite talent on offense who can change games for years.

I worry about Jeffrey since he seems out of shape or something and that's usually a big bad sign for someone who just skirts by on talent.

We need to improve the defense/special teams with every. single. pick. next year. I think we need to look at a guy like Burfict or Zach Brown next year, because we're in need of a linebacker, horribly.

I would also say we should consider Kirkpatrick/Claiborne/Jenkins, but, I think that Darius Butler might be good enough to play the #2 corner for a while, and with the more pressing issues being the front 7, we need to worry about those positions first and foremost.
