Surviving a football loss

You win that one.

I'd consider those the exception and here's some explanation:

Chargers have beat Minn, KC, Mia, Den, a combined 7-21 record. If that trend of 1:1 or worse continues, I expect them to have more losses.

Raiders win when McFadden rushes for a bunch and lose when they have to throw the ball.

Bucs are a bit trickier. They are hot and cold. Freeman has had two bad games where he went for a combined 2 TD 6 Int and they lost those two. Other than that he's been just good enought to beat some bad teams (Vikes, Falcons, Colts) and the Saints.

I guess we can always hope to be the exception...

Here's the thing, no one is expecting us to have a winning season. No one. We're coming off a 2-14 season and starting a rookie QB. Wins are obviously the most important stat but they'll come, just have to be patient. The team is definitely heading in the right direction and will only improve, especially with a full offseason.

Okay...other teams expect wins in those situations though. Bills, Bengals, 49ers were all bad last year but are winning games.

Cam is doing fine. He's not the best player in football or the best offensive player or even a top 5 QB, but he's good. Can't that just be enough? Can't he shoulder a little of the blame for why we are 2-5 as well as get credit for why we are an offense in the top half of the league?

He moves the ball, but he turns it over. It's okay to admit. That will change with time hopefully. We're not a playoff team and it is partly Cam's fault. We'll be dangerous in every game and that's to Cam's credit.

It's okay to have some balance is all.

i remember a post here a long time ago where a fellow huddlers wife told him and i quote " seriously i don't get why you get so upset and worked up over team and its decision when you have no say what so ever in what they do"

The truth of the matter is, every fan invests a different amount of emotion into their team. So it stands to reason, a loss will garner different emotions for every fan.

I am all in, always have been. Hell, I've been a Lions fan for over 40 years, and a Panther fan since inception. Losts of losses during that time, with very few highs to balance it out. I hate losing when I have control, but I can deal with it from my teams.

It all comes down to how well your team plays. Play well and still lose, most fans can live with that. Although some fans still believe any loss is a personal affront. Play badly and you deserve the wrath that is sure to follow.

Winning is difficult in the NFL. We now have a QB that everyone believes in. That belief makes losses that much more difficult to fathom. Hence the animosity, and frustration. I can see it, just don't subscribe to it.

Short version. Losing sucks. Winning does not. Anyone can handle winning. Not everyone can handle losing.
