Darwin Walker wants to come back

yep...its a good sign when veterans want to be on your football team. Shows that they think this team is close to something special.

What game was it that Darwin Walker got plugged in on one series and made three straight plays to force the team 3 and out. My memory fails me. I know it was at home though.

“He has all the tools you want in a corner — big, long arms, fast, good feet,” Lucas said. “He has everything you want. He can press, he can play off, and he has the right attitude.

“That's something he's been taking pride in, going out there getting better every day. He doesn't complain at all — he really doesn't say anything — he just goes out and does his work and when he goes out there and plays scout team, that's when he's working.

“He's going to be a very good corner when he gets his opportunity to play, and I truly believe that.”

A lot of praise for C.J. Wilson... Gamble, Marshall, Wilson might be our CBs for years to come.

He's good to have on for depth and I'm sure we could sign him cheap. Having veteran guys who have been in the league on the team is ALWAYS a good thing, when teaching young players it helps to have lessons from not only the coaching staff but also the players themselves.

Walker was solid for us prior to the accident, but his injuries kept him from being much of a factor afterwords. He'd be nice to bring back as depth, however, we would still need a penetrating all-around DT. IMO, a lack of pressure up the middle was our biggest problem last year.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
