Cam Sets Rookie QB Rushing TD Record; 2 TDs behind League Lead

He can't get in if he doesn't get the carries...25 total touches between Williams and Stewart vs a team that's biggest weakness has been labeled as their "run defense".

Williams 10 carries, 73 yards, (7.3 ypc), this is coming down to play-calling. I don't know if it's because we can't or because we won't (I believe it's a combination of both) but we have got to run more inside the ten yard line (maybe we're running more than I'm noticing) but it feels like 4 of 5 plays is a pass once we are that close.

Didn't Cam run in two touichdowns from inside the 10 on Sunday. Does it matter who does it?? Then we threw two. Looks like 50/50 to me.

At the moment, no...

But think about something... when was the last time DeAngelo Williams finished a season healthy? You take a pounding when you're running the ball. Do you want your QB to take that pounding?

To put it another way... Vick has played 16 games exactly once.

this season isn't about winning it's about developing cam. the playcalling is skewed as such.

There was a time when I thought that......I agree it is about developing Cam but I don't think that explains the lack of running. Just bad play calling. Part of developing Cam is the TEAM winning.....calling appropriate runs would maid in that. cam still go pass heavy with a load on Cam and have better play calling letting the RBs do more work

So. We are intentionally sabotaging our chances to win, telling the rest of the team that they essentially come second place to Cam, just to make sure Cam can throw the ball, and our gameplan has nothing to do with our offensive philosophy, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Right?

And, we have the 9th ranked passing offense. We have the 7th ranked rushing offense. But yet, we are intentionally sabotaging out chances to win games??

No. Stupid notion.

chudz has come out and said that this is a pass-first offense (not that we needed him to, it's pretty obvious.) cam newton was drafted to help win football games within that system.

chudz, hurney, and rivera are building a football team that can win with the current offensive scheme and they are building it around cam. they aren't building it around a running back or a tight end or a good wide receiver. those are all key components but they will be drafted/signed/cut based on whether or not they fit the new mold.

the new mold is a fugton of passes. and chudz won't call runs in situations that goes against his offensive designs because that's not what he's trying to do. he's seeing who fits this offense, who can learn it.

it's part of the process of rebuilding.

    • Dude you're all over the place. Bryce definitely played better than average down the stretch last year. That's what I said. I dont think it's controversial, and I think it's true based both on stats and by actually watching him play. He was the 6th rated passer by PFF during the last 8 weeks. In no world is that below average You trying to twist this into something else is a you thing.  Have a great night
    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
