Broncos stat that everyone will ignore...

I don't think that throwing the ball 20 times a game should be a qualifier. Trent Dilfer didn't average 20 throws/game in the Ravens' 2000 Super Bowl season. (I'm neither calling The Golden Calf of Bristol a Dilfer nor the Broncos a Ravens, just saying it can't be ruled out by that 1 stat)

Actually Tony Banks and Trent Dilfer started 8 games each that 2000 Super Bowl season. They combined for 504 attempts in 16 games or 31 pass attempts per game.

They had 511 rush attempts, a nice 50/50 ratio.

While the defense was #1 overall that year their offense was 14th in points scored and 16th in total yards, not too shabby.

They did reel in Dilfer in the post season but he did throw the ball 26 times in the Super Bowl.

thing is, The Golden Calf of Bristol is averaging 20 throws a game.. he's only completing 45% of those..

I'm really not trying to hold down 1 stat as my main point as much as I am trying to say 1 simple thing: watch The Golden Calf of Bristol try to complete a much higher percentage of passes, however many attempts that might require.... and then see if he can win games.. when defenses force him to throw and figure out how to stop the option, he has nothing left other than to be a true QB...

how will that turn out? maybe he can prove me wrong, but I find it hard to believe anyone would take him as THEIR qb for the future based on him "winning now"..

I was wondering if you could move out New Orleans, Atlanta and Tampa Bay and bring in San Diego, Oakland and Kansas City. Please?

You act like we could beat any of those teams anyway. Tampa blows btw. The future of QBs which is Josh Freeman fuging sucks.

God damn the Raiders would smash the living poo out of us. I'm not sure how much longer I can handle being worse than the Raiders and Lions. Couple years and running now.

tell me this tho TRD, off topic, you say matt ryan is not that good of a QB, why?

He looks to me to be making your statement incorrect at the moment.

I think he's a game manager, possibly good, nowhere near elite.

Nothing wrong with being a game manager, most QBs in the league are, he's just not as good as people want to believe. I think he's had the lowest YPA for the last couple of years (Maybe now with Julio it's changed) and that screams Game Manager.

Very few QBs in this league can win on their own and elevate their team, maybe 4. The rest are largely a product of the situation they are in and the cast they have around them.

most games the ATL wins come from a major push off from their receivers.. Matt Ryan is clutch, FTW!!!!!!!!!!

    • It's honestly pretty interesting just seeing this pairing play out. Canales’ offenses (Seattle, Tampa) are run-first, under-center, play-action systems built around defined reads and intermediate/deep timing throws. That structure worked when he had QBs like Baker Mayfield or Russell Wilson in a system that created clear launch points and sightlines. His success has always been tied to a credible run game + play-action gravity. You can see that with the Panthers team building philosophy as well. Coker and TMac both are bigger receivers that won't get the best YAC production but thrive as possession receivers in contested scenarios. They're not the best in space and creating additional yardage in such, and would likely fair better systematically with a stronger armed QB who can create better opportunities on those boundary 1v1 matchups with stronger throws. Bryce, on the other hand, is a spread-native QB. His strengths are rhythm, spacing, quick processing, and off-script creation. Asking him to live in condensed formations with long-developing play-action concepts just hasn't been his forte. And well, his boundary throws are limited in velocity which takes a big chunk of the playbook off. And I mean a QB like Bryce can still work, it's just Dave's offensive philosophy and foundation is very much at odds with Young's physical limits and his own experience. So it's certainly still a learning experience for Dave to figure out how he can mesh his offensive philosophy with Young's strengths. He's very inexperienced with maximizing Bryce's strengths with his system. Would love to see us bring in an OC with spread experience and adaptability to implement a cohesive system with Dave to allow Bryce to thrive, as it's obvious we're sticking with him for a bit longer.
    • Only thing I really agreed with is questioning why we didn’t take any timeouts on their last drive.  I know hindsight is 20/20, but I think it would’ve saved clock bc they were desperate to score as soon as the opportunity presented itself, but I also think it could’ve helped the defense regroup and maybe give us a better chance to stop them.
