The Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks have shown the most interest in trading for Paul, according to sources briefed on the talks. One source told ESPN.com that virtually every team in the league has called, including the Los Angeles Lakers

First I wanted to create this thread because he is my favorite player in the NBA. Sadly, I don't think he will be coming to the Bobcats.

My opinion is that the Thunder should offer Westbrook for Paul. Think about it. It's really a win-win all around.

IMO Westbrook's style of play is not suited to play with Kevin Durant. Westbrook needs the ball in his hands at all times. He has to be the number one option. Paul, however, would DOMINATE with Durant, Ibaka, and Perk. With Harden coming on late last season as a spot up 3 shooter, the Thunder could become the league's scariest team.

Also I'm praying Chris doesn't go to the Knicks. They will be a worse version of the Heat, and I think will kill his chances of getting a championship if he goes there.

Bynum most likely will be traded for Howard, so who could the Lakers trade for Paul- Gasol? Odom? I doubt the Hornets want either of those two players. The problem is the Lakers simply don't have enough young talent to package.

But if they were able to some how get Paul and Howard, as in maybe waiting till the offseason to sign Howard. A big three of Paul, Kobe, and Howard would be scary. Kobe might be getting old, but if he doesn't have to create as much with Paul and Howard he could play well into his 30's.

But, but, but the owners want parity!!! The new CBA will save this from happening! Lol. Not even a week after the lockout is lifted a superstar under contract expresses interest in playing in the biggest market. The team with the highest payroll is still goin after big name RFAs. The owners can always count on the fans blindly supporting them because they resent and envy NBAs players so much. That blind trust is whats killing the league.

The owners can always count on the fans blindly supporting them because they resent and envy NBAs players so much. That blind trust is whats killing the league.

I agree the main reason for the lockout wasn't addressed appropriately, but with the way the CBA is written big market teams are gonna make a run for it this year and next. The tax penalty doesn't start to increase until year 3 of the CBA so it is now or never for teams like LA and NY. Especially the Lakers with Kobe getting older, which is why they are making a push for a couple big stars.

In 3 years they will be complaining about not making enough money and in 6 years the owners will opt out again.

PLayers should not be forced to stay at a team for their entire career with the team who drafted them with no say so.... Then at the same time the owners can cut, trade or do away with said players when they please....

Bobcats are forced to overpay players to come here because we don't have a lot of talent which limits how much talent we can actually bring in. Then when we finally get rid of bad contracts, we have to overpay for more talent. Viscous cycle.

No, not at all. Dr. Jerry Buss, fantastic owner, Donald Sterling, horrific owner, just in the LA market. Nobody goes to see either owner play.

The Owners and Players just signed off on this new deal so you cant point the finger at either alone can you?

The players have the power to make the move happen, I don't think the Nuggets wanted to ship Carmelo out of town but had little choice, nothings changed.

I think it's more wanting to play for a quality organization as opposed to a town, otherwise high profile free agents would flock to the Clippers like they do the Lakers.

Or maybe it's just everyone wants to play with Kobe. :D

We will have to agree to disagree... I have expressed on here before why 1 star surrounded by mediocre talent on most teams is not exciting NBA to me, and that is what a hard cap would create.

Now last year, with all the player movements but the teams that resulted was one of the best NBA seasons in a long time I could remember! Not only for me, but the regular season, playoff, and finals ratings should a lot of people agreed with me... I mean Miami, OKC, Chicago, Boston, the LAkers, Okc, then throw in Golden State, Denver, Portland, and other teams... it was amazing.... NBA used to be about #4 on my list of sports.. now it's number 2... I have even invested in NBA Broadband league pass so I can see charlotte and these other teams every night... So they are getting my $$$ and a lot of other people with the setup.

I agree it is can be more entertaining if there are a bunch of superstars on 1 team, but if that is what you want you should be pushing for contraction. There isn't enough superstar talent in the league right now to have 30 teams. If you want more than 1 superstar on a team there shouldn't be but about 15 teams in the league.

It isn't fair for teams small market teams and their fans to set up the rules where it almost hurts talented players to go there. Might as well just shut us down if that is what you want.
