I Like Seeing All These New Guys Playing

Maybe at first but a couple years of it is a little much. Obvioulsy we were 'internally stalled'. I'd much rather see veterans making smart plays than watching potential every year. If you're always planning for the future you'll never win anything in the present.

Keiser will probably become a fan favorite very soon.. And i am honestly glad Fua will no longer be starting.. i hate he got hurt but i think at times he's played very soft. It will be really interesting to see who really steps up at DT.. Maybe this Shirley guy.. He is massive. And Senn has really impressed me also.. he plays much bigger than he is.

I like that they're getting meaningful snaps. I think that's a pretty key factor in their development. Regardless on opinions of what the team is capable of, they're not quite yet eliminated from the playoffs. There is also the potential of finishing 8-8, but even better: we can leave a few floaters in ATL, NO, and HOU cereal bowl.

That's assuming the defense can get it together and the offense can maintain momentum. I wouldn't bet on any of that, but it's nice that those possibilities give the players a little something extra to hustle for. A carrot on a stick if you will.

I've always thought that Neblett was a solid contributor (UDFA iirc) and Jordan Senn has as well. I think that Fua wasn't meant to start this season. He was drafted after McClain and would've been backing up Ron Edwards. From the scouting reports that I read on him, he's a very smart player but not exactly an elite athlete. I hope to see improvement next season when he's rotating in, as Rivera has said that he thinks players take about 3 years to develop. We'll see how he bulks up over the summer and whether or not he makes any improvements come preseason.

More Antwan Applewhite plz.

I love what Senn has done. Not because he is "the new guy", but because he has done what Jason Williams, Omar Gaither, Thomas Williams et al couldn't do, namely play his position with discipline and give us stability at OLB.

The emergence of Keiser as a solid situational player is encouraging.

Pilares is making the most of his opportunities.

I also believe LaFell is finally learning how to be a pro in this league.

Now if we could just get someone other than Gamble to step up in the secondary...

I see Hogan standing on the sideline. Wish he was ready this year

Yeah I would rather be winning with our starters but it is a good way to find young talent and get guys game experience.

I have to agree. The downside is that guys are inexperienced and make mistakes but the upside is that they get experience and will increase our depth next year when the starters get back if they don't take over as starters themselves.

I remember in 2004 we had the same kind of issue. Between finishing strong and having good rotations on both sides of the ball, it set us up for a very good 2005. I hope the same thing happens next year.

Keiser has made it to the field pretty fast and been in the right place at the right time over the past few games. Honestly I think the sacks and the pick he has gotten have all been more a result of Hardy/Johnson and the QB taking too long to get rid of the ball. But he isn't supposed to be a starter, so that's good to jumpstart a guy into a solid support role.

I don't care about other receivers outside of the starters. I'd keep Pilares around because of special teams and he has an interesting blend of speed and build that could be developed.

IM happy that we are getting people that would otherwise not play some playing time.

this way when our starters are healthy and if we sign some more in FA we can have some quality depth for a change.

Thats been our problem for years is quality depth.

We really need to make sure we get a number 2 corner, a starter quality DT and a Linebacker that can be regarded as a starter in this league.

Keep the people that have showed some potential as depth and I think we can build on that for the future.

    • Why are Vikings fans acting like we peed in their cereal?
    • I’m actually fine with our TE group. I would like to see us upgrade at ILB, maybe safety and CB.   I think we are good at WR. I thought Corley could have been a good player but I guess he wasn’t doing good at all.   I came across this article about Corley from today. I know sometimes a change of scenery can really help turn around a player and we’ve seen plenty of players from the jets end up being good other places. I just don’t know if Corley is that guy.   https://www.newsweek.com/sports/nfl/jets-insider-shares-embarrassing-fact-about-malachi-corleys-release-2119816
    • I was really rooting for him after seeing that video about his struggles. I always thought he was a solid and underrated player.   I thought for sure he would have made the team after hearing all the hype and how he made that overthrown catch by Plummer behind the line and still was able to gain a yard or two off it. Plummer really overthrew him each time yet he was able to still not lose yards. I think he still could play in the nfl. I think he may need a few months to get into top form though. Hopefully he will get signed to another team.
