Todd Haley gets the boot

In one way I'm shocked because Kansas City actually have a good team. If your number one TE, RB, S, QB and probably a bunch of other guys go down, it's no wonder your team sucks so badly this year. Yet on the other hand, Haley had some pretty intense moments with Cassel on the sidelines, and something intense probably happened behind doors that led to his firing.

For any coach wanting to come in the NFL, Kansas City isn't that bad a place to hook up with when healthy. Again, they have a top 10 RB, a top 10 TE if I say so myself, a top ball-hawking safety, and a doable QB. A couple of draft pick ups, a good FA, and you're in business.

In 2 years, Scott Pioli will have built a very solid team.

People are still up in the air about Cassel but they have some great talent there: Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Charles, Breaston, Bowe, Flowers, etc.

In contrast...Caldwell still has a job.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
