blackmon is not fit to hold smith's jock strap, nor could he dream of being a #1 wr at the next level. We're not drafting blackmon, we have too many wr in developement as it is, and he wouldn't be a major upgrade.

The cbs for next season are #1 gamble, #2 hogan, #3 captain.

looool!!!

Once again, Rivera said that somebody needed to step up and take the number 2 WR spot in camp BEFORE David Gettis even got hurt. If he was that confident in them, they never would have went and got Nannee. Rivera and Hurney have also been saying in recent articles how they think the defense will be more improved with all the injured players coming back next year and Hurney has be talking about the philosophy of making the strengths of the team stronger in the off season for improvement. Just sayin nobody should be shocked if we take Blackmon in the draft, considering all this its not that hard to understand.

yep. i think it's time to put this guy on ignore as it's obvious he won't ever be capable of providing any legitimate insight

You wanna see some legitimate insight? Go to my profile and look at some of my post. Also The Pie Given and Rep i have say other wise sir. THE FACT is that guy saying Blackmon wont be anything as a receiver in the NFL is laughable and sounds completely ignorant. Thats how i feel.

So you're saying that Rivera still feels the same way as he did back during TC?

Nothing has change his mind at all like having a top 10 Offense??

Please show me the link to where Hurney or Rivera actually said just bringing back our injuried players is enough to help this defense.

I could maybe see him talking about the LB's but no way in hell do they think the secondary can be fixed without bringing in different players.

Still nobody has anwsered Why is Blackmon Elite when D Jarret who had better numbers wasn't? Why should we think Blackmon will be Megatron when he wasn't better then Jarret in college?

I just looked up Blackmon again to see why you guy are drooling.

He is "6'1" (more likely 6'0 or shorter after the combine) with avg. speed and you act like he is Megatron or something.

We have 2 wr on the roster now who are 6'3 and faster.

This would be more then a wasted pick if we took Blackmon.

There are some decent free agent wide recievers next year, we get Gettis back along with Lafell, and for the most part our offense is pretty damn good. We need OL more than recievers! We can't continue to hope and pray our offense beats the other team every week, we need a fuggin defense. LB looks sucky next year in free agency, and we have Beason along with Anderson that's it. Davis is a major risk, Conner is not really a starter, Gaither is....well who the heck is that?, Senn is backup. There are some decent OL available in free agency if we can't get Kalil so our focus should be defense. That's what killing us right now! How about some defensive secondary or DE help please?

I dont want this to happen but now that we will probably not have a bad enough record to get Kalil or Claiborne...anyone else worried about Hurney trading up to get who he wants and giving up next years first round pick along with it?...

If he trades up for Matt Kalil, I will have his babies.

    • He has a heftier contract than you would think. I think the issue is that the Texans will want likely more than he is worth. They are in no great need of trading him.  I am fine with Mills as a bridge attempt, no issue with that. I just don't want to be seeing top 4 round draft picks headed out the door, even considering our lack of ability to capitalize on them.
    • You're gonna mess around and hurt someones feelings
    • He’s set financially for life barring complete fiscal lunacy. He has $12.3 million guaranteed. Think about that. Twelve million three hundred thousand dollars, he’ll be 28 years old when his contract is up and he’s completely forgotten about if he never plays another down in the NFL if he so chooses. Say after taxes he ‘only’ brings home $6M (fire your accountant territory) and parks $4M in a run of the mill mutual fund… good God… What I’m getting at, IF homie ain’t feeling the NFL, he has 12,300,000 reasons to take the fewest NFL edition ass kickings as possible while waiting out his very wealthy non-football future.  Obviously completely talking out of my a$$ with this… but if you hated contact, didn’t want to live with a completely wrecked body for the rest of your life and you know you’re set financially… what path would you take, assuming you’re cool with being a quitter (not calling him a quitter, I’m just playing out a scenario)? Why do so many first rounders bust? Where was he before his one year wonder if he was such a stud?  Everybody likes the dude on a personal level. How could you not? …. but I like seeing a winning product even more. He doesn’t play like his head is in the game. The Why is where the speculation lies and helps to clarify if his issues are ‘fixable’ or not.
