Best Buy can't meet online demands by Christmas

Best Buy says it won't be able to fill some customers' online orders, just days before Christmas.

The largest U.S. specialty electronics retailer says overwhelming demand for some products has led to a problem redeeming online orders made in November and December.

The Minneapolis company declined Thursday to specify how many orders are affected or which products are out of stock.

The shortages are a black eye for Best Buy, which has beefed up online offerings as a way to offset tough competition from online retailers and discount stores

Amazon has destroyed BestBuy over the past couple of years. Over the past week BB has had some very good game deals and during black Friday they had better deals which struck me by surprise. Still order 99% of my purchases from Amazon though. There are rumors that BB may be going the way of Circuit City.

To be honest, I'm afraid to buy from Amazon. I guess part of the problem is that I don't really understand it that well. Is it a warehouse that sells merchandise, or does it just facilitate sales between individuals? And what if you get something that doesn't work or is damaged, how easy is it to return it.

I guess that sometimes when I look for something on amazon, I can't tell if it's just a glorified ebay or craigslist, or if it's a legitimate business that controls the items it sells.

WOW!!! (3 exclamation points)

I can't believe there are people in the world that are still as clueless as this poor guy!

You know what, sometimes you try way too hard . But then, you must realize that with the way you are so universally loved and respected here.

It's both, essentially. They can get lower pricing on a lot of the same stuff other places sell because they don't have lots of locations to light, staff, insure etc.

    • OK, we are letting our top RB go.  We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks.  Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB?  I am sure he'd be a special team player as well.  I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target.    Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs.   40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character.  Smart.  Maybe, just maybe....
    • These refs are horrible.  They definitely got money on this game lol.
    • I don’t think the concept is bad thinking. That money this year is a ball buster, for getting nothing out of it.    gives him a little future location security and maybe hope that if he can get back we’ll pay him, with a renegotiation. Could give us some relief this year. That is kind of creative.
